EDIT: GAME OFF, no ref ❌🙅‍♂️

We are back in league action at home this sunday against another new league entry in Puriton fc.

A team that have entered the league and made a big impact already being unbeaten after 4 games, it’s gonna be a tough test.

We welcome your support as always, as we look to get a win against a challenging opposition.

Bridgwater wolves 2-1 Wyvern

Not our day today the boys battled hard but didn’t have enough to get a result.

We found ourselves 1-0 after a counter attack from wolves from a freekick deep inside their half.

Scott got us back level not long after beating the keeper in the air with a glancing header into the empty net.

Ht 1-1

With 10 minutes left in the game we conceded after a corner fell nicely for a wolves player to fire home, the boys are disappointed with how the goals were conceded and felt we should’ve got more from the game.

Ft 2-1

Wyvern 11-0 Spartans

A dominant display this morning.

Chai got things going with a goal of the season contender, a 35 yard free kick thundercunt into the top bins, keeper had no chance.

Goals kept flowing all morning with Rans picking up 3 assists and Harry and chai getting hat tricks each.

Another goal of the season contender came in the second half when scads took it on the turn on his chest and volleyed with his weak foot into the top corner.

Leaty got 2 goals himself before dropping into the back line for the remainder of the game and cam and Callum added the others.

Another clean sheet for Ethan who didn’t have a lot to do all morning.

Wyvern 1-3 PSV

With a couple key players pulling out on the morning of the game we knew it was gonna be a tough battle today.

We had a good first half, defensively solid and broke the deadlock with a rocket from Fin into the top corner to put us 1-0 up, psv were piling on the pressure but we managed to get to halftime with the score at 1-0.

Second half psv proved too much in the end, age shown and the relentless pressure paid off for the visitors after a couple decent goals from them seen us go behind, then they added the third with 15 minutes to go.

We had a couple big chances in the game a couple off the line but not enough to grind out any kind of result.

FT

1-3

The better and fitter team won on the day.
PSV a good outfit and will be hard to stop this season.

Big one Sunday as we face PSV at home for the first time this season, with them picking up maximum points in their opening games it’s down to us to see if we can put a stop to that.

Come down and support the boys!

Ash Park 0-4 Wyvern

Wyvern started fairly lively and a few half chances gone a miss but deadlock was broken with a Leaty LongThrow flicked on by Roberto into the path for George Davey to thunderbolt home
1-0…

More chances for Wyvern missed 👀 and Ash Park rattling the post which should have woken the boys up

The second goal came for Wyvern but thanks to an Ash Park outrageous header looping over his own keeper into the top bins…great header, wrong goal

2-0

Halftime

More chances for Wyvern but just couldn’t finish

Unfortunately game was stopped due to an injury to the Ash Park keeper, everyone at Wyvern hopes he’s okay and pass on our best wishes

Game restarts on 73 minutes and Ash Park start to get lively and look threatening … only for Ethan to punt the ball long over the backtracking Ash Park keeper into the back on the net
Bringing back a Paul Robinson kinda vibe
3-0

Wyvern grab a 4th goal thanks to a Jamie Girvvvaannnnn corner which was neatly put on Leatys Head to guide into the top corner
4-0

WYVERN COME AWAY IN HIGH SPIRITS!

Stogursey/Spirit FC 2–8 Wyvern

A dominant display from Wyvern this morning saw us brush aside the 10 men of Spirit and come away with an impressive three points on the road.

Wyvern started brightly and it wasn’t long before George opened the scoring, dancing his way past three defenders inside the box before calmly guiding the ball into the bottom corner with his left foot. ⚽️

Shortly after, Stef doubled the lead with an absolute wonder free-kick. 🎯

The home side managed to grab one back against the run of play to make it 2–1, but Wyvern responded almost immediately. Stef produced another moment of magic, smashing a ridiculous half-volley from outside the box into the top bins to restore our two-goal advantage.

Chai nearly got in on the action himself, but the Spirit keeper pulled off a good save down to his right to keep his header out.

HT: 1–3

Wyvern came out firing in the second half, with a quick break and a well-worked move finished off by one of our four debutants, Callum, to make it 4–1. 👏

Spirit somehow found another goal from nowhere after a deflected effort came back off the post and fell kindly for them to fire home.

4–2.

It wasn’t long before Stef had the chance to complete his hat-trick from the penalty spot, and he made absolutely no mistake, firing the ball into the top corner. ⚽️

We then felt we should have had another two penalties, but unfortunately the referee was the only person on the pitch who disagreed! 😂

Chai finally got himself on the scoresheet after a frustrating morning, sliding in at the back post to finish off George’s drilled shot/cross. ⚽️

Then came Cam the Ham with a worldie, curling an effort beautifully into the top corner. 🥵

George then wrapped up the scoring in style, picking the ball up around halfway, driving forward and smashing his effort into the near post.

FT: Stogursey/Spirit FC 2–8 Wyvern

A fantastic away result and, if we’re being honest, one that could quite easily have been double figures.

There were excellent performances all over the park today, but there was only ever going to be one Man of the Match…

🏆 MOTM – STEF 🏆

A perfect captain’s performance in the middle of the park, topped off with a hat-trick. Take a bow, skipper. 👏🧡
