Hi all. Just an update from the weekend. Unfortunately the car did not behave. We managed to break a drive shaft backing away from the trailer very easy to do, then I thought there was a lot more fuel in the car but it ran out while at scrutinising (completely my fault). Then the engine was missing. Connor took it out to see if it would clear but pulled off in practice after 1 lap. Then thanks to an incompetent auto speed tractor driver. He rammed Connor in the back while he was reversing to drive off the track. He then hit Connor with the tractor twice more ramming him in to the barrier. I’ll add the photos below of the damage they caused. All in all a pretty s**t day. But that’s racing. Unfortunately the damage could have been avoided. Thanks for all your well wishes. Here’s to the next one.

Now time to repair the car and spend some more money 🤦‍♂️🤣.

It’s now official. Connor is now booked in for his first race 🏁 #779

I’m so proud of my son today. He took his race car out for the first time today, on the track with other well seasoned racers. He managed 3 good steady laps before he gave it a little bit too much on the loud pedal, resulting in him hitting the barrier very hard. He’s ok! The only thing other than the front of the car that is damaged is his pride, and his nuts🤦‍♂️🤣. The car is definitely not the prettiest (it has been rubbed down ready for painting) but it is what he could afford and he worked really hard to save for with his little job at the Bird in Hand. Myself and Connor are extremely grateful for the support of some truly great friends and family on this journey.

He’s still a little downbeat but at 15 years old I’ve never been so proud or stressed at the same time 🤣. He has told me that he cannot wait to get behind the wheel again, and after a big shunt that’s great to hear. We have a lot of work to do together, but together we will get there 🏁. He’s now chilling in the bath with a bit of a sore neck. #779

Nice little trip to Hereford this morning to pick this up for the boy. It took a lot longer than expected due to the good old M5!! The season is just around the corner now. Still a lot to do, but we are getting there. Thank you all for your help so far it is really appreciated.
