🌱 Summer Greens Maintenance Underway 🌱

This week we’re carrying out our annual summer greens maintenance to keep our putting surfaces in the best possible condition.

Using a GKB Sandfiller, we’re removing surface organic matter while incorporating sand into the upper rootzone. Once the debris has been cleared, the greens are deep spiked to 3 inches to relieve compaction, improve drainage and encourage stronger root development.

The process is then completed by brushing and rolling the surfaces before overseeding with bentgrass, helping to produce healthier, smoother and more consistent greens for the future.

While the work may cause a little short-term disruption, it’s an essential investment in the long-term quality of our greens. Thank you for your patience and understanding while this work is carried out 🙏🏼

A huge congratulations to Tom Sloman on qualifying for The Open Championship.

Tom’s journey has been one the whole club has been immensely proud to watch. From developing through the junior section at Taunton & Pickeridge, to representing Great Britain & Ireland in the Walker Cup, and now earning his place in golf’s oldest and most prestigious major.

It’s a fantastic achievement and a testament to years of hard work, dedication and talent.

Everyone at Taunton & Pickeridge wishes Tom and the entire Sloman family the very best at The Open. We’ll all be cheering you on! 👏⛳

As things stand, T&P honorary member Tom Sloman is on course to book his place at The Open Championship! 👏🏌️‍♂️

Tom has put himself in a fantastic position during Final Qualifying at Burnham & Berrow today and, as things stand, is occupying one of the qualifying spots for Royal Birkdale. What a tremendous achievement it would be!

There are only 5 places up for grabs, with the final groups entering the back nine.
