Busy spraying herbicide in recent weeks keeping control of marginal vegetation using a 5m extending spray lance to make lighter work of it!

We have been sorting out some of the aeration equipment today, generators, pumps and splash aeration units all ready for action the summer, four new splash aeration units and extra generators will been delivered soon give us more capability this year. Barley Straw Extract for sale, apply first dose at 8lts per an acre and top-up every two weeks at 2lts an acre for effective algae control throughout the season. 20lt cans available at £40 each plus vat collection or local delivery available.

Busy few days on the Somerset levels, firstly removing duckw**d & azolla from a section of rhyne to allow us to electrofish a section to remove fish from a works area. Managed to use the Jellyfishbot to help remove some of the w**d using a trailing net.

Another busy week at RAF Chicksands removing fish from a section of river to allow for dredging work to commence more than 300 fish removed including chub, Tench, Roach, Bullhead, Stone Loach, Stickleback and minnow using fykes nets and electrofishing equipment.

We have recently purchased a Jellyfishbot marine drone from P&D Marine, this will allow us to remotely pull ropes across waterways to install aeration equipment or seine nets safely in difficult conditions, these machines are designed for multiple tasks such as rubbish removal, removing duckw**d and algae, and clearing up after pollution incidents using booming or oil absorbent materials, also fitted with a camera and GPS I am sure it will be a useful tool to have available, if you have waterways you need cleaning then get in contact!

Last week we were working at RAF Chicksands carrying out a fish removal using fyke nets and electrofishing equipment to allow for lake to be desilted, all the fish were moved to another lake onsite, Bullhead, Dace, Roach, Chub, Stone Loach and minnow were the species caught.

This week we have been dealing with high ammonia levels in a local lagoon, the aeration equipment being put to full effect to maintain oxygen levels and reduce ammonia levels to keep the fish safe.
