Taunton Athletics Club

On Thursday 4th June 2026, the inaugural Blagdon Hill Charity 10k race took place.

It is organised by Pitminster & Angersleigh Playing Field Association, with profits going towards a fund to build a new Pavilion & Community Hub at the Blagdon Hill Playing Field.

A number of runners from Taunton AC took part, with 5 winning category prizes as listed below.

Jonathan Gilling - 1st MV50
Keith Paul - 1st MV60
Mark Walker - 1st MV30
Chaleigh O'Brien - 1st FV30

Huge congratulations to @dillon_millard07 who won the 3k steeplechase, representing 🇬🇧 GB Juniors at yesterday’s Loughborough International Meeting. Not only did he secure the win, but set a Pb of 8:51.48 in a World Junior Championships qualifying time, which currently ranks him number 1️⃣ in Europe! 🥳👏👏👏 #steeplechase #internationalhonour #talentdevelopment #homegrowntalent #enduranceathlete @ukafutures

Congratulations to Jim McConnel (M50) and Christine Williams (F70) who represented the England Athletics Age Group Masters Team over 10k at Bideford last Sunday. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

Having made qualification earlier last year, both Jim and Christine got to swap the TAC vest for an England vest on Sunday. 🎽

Joining the best of masters athletes from around the country they competed over the 10k distance, clocking 36:00 and 56:32 respectively.

Their performances demonstrate it's never too late to be competitive. 👏🏼👏🏼

Several members of TAC will be taking to the roads in Manchester and Boston this weekend, and in London next weekend. We wish them all the best in their long distance endeavours.
