Good to get some testing done . Valuable insight into where I’m currently at with my rehab, and seeing the difference in strength at certain ranges allows me to focus more on specific areas that need more work.

Eight months ago, I went through every athlete’s nightmare. I ruptured my Achilles tendon. As you can see in the video, I went to jump for a header but never actually got off the ground.

It’s easy to believe something like this could never happen, especially when you look fit and feel fine. But in reality, my life was getting busier, and it was my training and nutrition that suffered. In the 6–12 months leading up to the injury, my training was nothing like it used to be, and my nutrition became quick, convenient foods that simply saved time. I assumed that because I looked in shape, I was in shape.
But over time, my body was getting weaker and struggling to cope with the demands of Step 2 football. Training twice a week, playing one or two matches a week, long coach journeys, they all add up.

I’m sharing this because if you find yourself in a similar situation in your sport, at any level, think twice before skipping those sessions. The compounding effect on your body is real, trust me, I’ve learned the hard way!

But, there has been a major positive to come from this. It’s given me the motivation to get back to doing what I love and do best, and that is to prioritise both my own health and performance as well as my clients’.
