Helping busy Taunton women feel stronger, fitter & more energised 💪

10/06/2026

Schools break up around the last week of July.

Which means you've got roughly six weeks before the summer holiday stretch begins, longer days, later nights, routine out the window, and about fourteen opportunities a week to make it all feel harder than it needs to be.

I'm not saying that to stress you out. I'm saying it because six weeks is actually enough time to build a couple of habits that will hold through summer, rather than spending August in survival mode and September starting over.

Here's what I'd suggest focusing on before the holidays hit:

1. Find your floor, not your ceiling. Stop thinking about what perfect looks like and decide what the minimum is that you'll always do, even on a messy week. One decent walk. A proper breakfast. Whatever it is. The floor is what keeps some skins in the game.

2. Sort out your easy meals now. Summer is full of spontaneous eating, BBQs, pub gardens, holiday food. But the meals that are just you at home… have those sorted so you're not making decisions when you're tired and hungry.

3. Stop waiting for the right conditions. The routine you're waiting to have before you start? It's not coming. Summer will be just as imperfect as every other season.

Start with what you've got now.

What tends to be your biggest challenge over the summer months?

Be honest, I'd love to know!

Here's an offer: Comment your biggest summer challenge below, whether it's eating, motivation, moving enough, or just staying sane, and we'll send you the helpful no nonsense guide that helps.

We have resources specifically on summer eating habits, staying active without a gym routine, managing energy across longer, busier days, and more.

Tell me what you're up against and I'll point you to the right one.

It takes thirty seconds and you might actually find it useful!

Leave me a comment now and I'll get back to you.

What does feeling good in your body actually mean to you - right now, at this point in your life?

Not ten years ago.

Not the goal you've been carrying around since your 30s.

Now.

Because for a lot of women I speak to, the honest answer has shifted.

It's less about how they look and more about how they feel getting up in the morning.

Whether their energy holds through the afternoon.

Whether they feel strong enough to do the things they want to do - a long walk, keeping up with the grandchildren, not feeling wrecked after a busy week.

That shift is actually really important. Because if you're still chasing a goal that doesn't reflect what you actually want anymore, no wonder it's hard to stay consistent.

You're working towards something that doesn't even excite you.

So, what does it look like for you?

What you actually want to feel like.

Tell me in the comments. I'm genuinely asking as it helps me help you. 👇

And if more energy is somewhere on that list - which it usually is - comment the word ENERGY below and we'll send you our guide on the four things that quietly drain energy in women over 40, and what to do about each one.

It's one of the most-requested things we share, and it might explain quite a lot.

01/06/2026

Half-term's done! 🙌

The children are back to school.

And if you're anything like most of the women I speak to, there's a quiet voice saying, "Right, now I can get back on track."

Which is great. Except… how many times have you said that this year already?

After Christmas. After Easter. After that week where everything just fell apart.

It's just what happens when your routine depends entirely on everything else staying still.

And nothing ever stays still.

If you want to break that cycle, it isn't more motivation or a better plan. It's having something small enough to keep going even when life is loud.

An anchor.

Something you come back to automatically, not something you have to psych yourself up for.

I'd love to know, what's the one thing that, when it goes wrong, everything else tends to follow?

For a lot of women it's sleep. For others it's skipping breakfast, or stopping exercising. Mine is the latter!

Drop it in the comments and let me know.

You might be surprised how many people are sitting with exactly the same thing. 👇

And here's something practical for you:

Tell us your biggest sticking point, the thing that keeps derailing you, and I will dive into the huge library resources we have at Plan B Fitness and send you something to help.

Just comment below and we'll get the right one to you. No catch. Just useful. 💬

How Accountability Helps Women Get Their Fitness Back After Years of Putting Everyone Else First 💕

I had a call recently with a woman (not the woman in the pictures - that's another one of our fantastic members who has seen real results) who said something we hear all the time, something I have felt and lived through, and something that I thought might resonate with others too:

“I know what to do. I just can’t seem to keep it going anymore.”

- She’d exercised for years when she was younger.
- She’d done classes.
- She’d joined gyms.
- She’d even worked with a trainer before.

But now?

🤹‍♀️She was juggling work, children, family life, and the exhaustion that comes from constantly being needed by other people.

Every week started with good intentions. And every week, something got in the way.

By the end of the conversation, she actually got emotional talking about how frustrated she felt with herself because in her head she was still the person who used to train consistently.

The truth is, so many women feel this way.

Not because they’ve become less capable.

Because life has become busier.

That’s why we believe fitness for women over 40 has to look different.

✅It has to fit around real life.
✅It has to feel supportive.
✅It has to feel manageable on busy weeks.
✅And it has to come with accountability, because motivation alone is unreliable when you’re carrying this much responsibility.

This woman started working with us in our female only small group training programme.

A few weeks after starting with us, she said something really simple:

“I think this is the first time in years I’ve done something consistently for myself.”

Not because our workouts were magical.

Not because she suddenly became more motivated.

Because she had:

👍Sessions booked in
👍A coach (me!) expecting her
👍A programme designed for her (not a gym bro)
👍A group of women around her who understood exactly what this stage of life feels like.

That’s what coaching really is.

For many women, it’s not about becoming the fittest person in the room.

It’s about finally feeling like they are doing the right thing, with the right support, community and accountability.

It starts with a no obligation chat…

Comment ‘Lets Chat’ and I will be in touch.

I was reflecting on some of the incredible results my clients have had recently… and one thing really stood out to me.

I’ve watched busy women in their 40s, 50s and 60s stop stressing about food and exercise… and finally start feeling strong, energised and confident again without fitness taking over their whole life.

Most of the women I work with in Taunton are juggling careers, family life, social lives, peri/menopause and the constant feeling that they “should” be doing better with their health.

But the truth is, most don’t need a more advanced programme.

They need something that actually fits their life.

Here’s just a few recent client wins:

Erin, a busy primary school teacher and working parent, lost 19lbs in her first 6 weeks with us after believing she was a lost cause and would never find a programme she could actually stick to. The biggest shift for Erin was finally getting control of the constant snacking and building habits that worked around real life.

Lucy joined our 6-week programme ahead of her wedding wanting to feel confident in herself again. When we put her before and after photos side by side, she genuinely couldn’t believe the second photo was her.

Karen was already in good shape but struggled with consistency around her busy work life. She wanted to tone up, lose a few stubborn inches and finally follow a routine that felt manageable instead of stressful.
And that’s the thing…

You do not need fitness to become another full-time job.

✔You need structure.
✔Flexibility.
✔Support.
✔And a plan designed for YOU.

So, I wanted to offer something back.

🎉I’m opening up 7 free discovery call spots for women in the Taunton area who want to feel stronger, more energised and back in control of their eating and exercise before summer.

We’ll chat through where you’re currently stuck, what’s been holding you back, and what a realistic plan could actually look like for your lifestyle.

If you’d like one of the 7 spots, comment “ME” below and I’ll send you the details.

Consistency in Fitness: Why Your Programme Matters Less Than You think…

The uncomfortable truth is this: most people don’t fail because their programme is bad. They fail because they can’t follow it for long enough.

That’s why consistency in fitness matters far more than the perfect workout plan, the latest diet trend, or the fanciest gym equipment.

The Plan Isn’t the Problem. The System Is.

Walk into most gyms in January and you’ll see brand new machines, shiny class timetables, and lots of enthusiasm. On paper, everything looks perfect.

Fast forward a few weeks and half the building is empty again.

Not because the equipment stopped working.

Not because the classes suddenly became ineffective.

But because the system didn’t fit real life.

If getting to the gym feels stressful, rushed, confusing, or inconvenient, it slowly drops down the priority list.

The same applies to dieting. A meal plan might look great on paper, but if it requires separate cooking, strict weighing, zero flexibility, or endless willpower, it rarely survives beyond the first few weeks.

Why Motivation Isn’t the Answer:

Most people believe consistency comes from motivation.

It doesn’t.

Motivation disappears the moment you’ve slept badly, work overruns, the weather turns, the children need more from you, or you’re simply tired. Real life always wins eventually.

What actually drives consistency in fitness is removing friction.

People who stick with exercise long term usually have:

• A clear plan so they’re not guessing what to do
• Sessions that fit into their diary rather than dominate it
• Coaching or guidance so they feel confident and supported
• Accountability that keeps momentum going
• Flexibility when life inevitably interferes

In other words, the system carries you when motivation fades.

As a busy parent myself, juggling work, family, and training, I know firsthand that perfect weeks are rare.

The only reason consistency happens at all is because the structure works even when days aren’t ideal.

Consistency in Fitness Is What Creates Results.

The body doesn’t respond to intensity in short bursts. It responds to steady, repeated signals over time.

A brilliant programme followed for three weeks won’t change much.

A sensible plan followed for six months absolutely will.

Strength improves. Energy stabilises. Body composition shifts. Confidence builds.

And most importantly, it becomes part of your routine rather than something you constantly restart.

Consistency in fitness isn’t exciting or flashy. It’s quietly effective.

What a Sustainable Approach Actually Looks Like.

A realistic fitness approach doesn’t rely on extremes. It usually includes:

• Strength training a few times per week
• Enough protein and sensible nutrition
• Daily movement rather than endless cardio
• A plan that allows flexibility for work, family, and social life
• Support and accountability to keep things moving forward

When people stop trying to be perfect and focus on being consistent, results become far more predictable and far less stressful.

The Bottom Line.

The programme itself rarely makes or breaks progress.

Your ability to stick with it does.

If you’ve ever felt frustrated that motivation fades too quickly, it’s not a personal failure. It’s usually a sign the system doesn’t fit your life.

When consistency in fitness becomes the priority, everything else starts to fall into place.

Strength builds. Energy improves. Confidence grows. And the constant cycle of restarting finally slows down.

That’s when fitness stops feeling like a battle and starts feeling like something that supports your life rather than competes with it.

If you want to see what a more realistic, sustainable fitness plan could look like for you, book a discovery call and let’s talk it through properly.
