We are looking for a Logistics Manager to join the team at Lyon. Based at our head office in Tebay, your role will be to supervise and control the efficient and accurate flow of goods in and out of the warehouse, ensuring high standards of customer service, inventory control, and order fulfilment.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in a logistics role, experience managing a team, and excellent interpersonal skills. If you (or someone you know) is suited to the role, we'd love to hear from you!

Last week we got out of the office and onto the hills right on our doorstep ⛰️

ASTRO and CANYON GUIDE harness safety alert: Replacement of the ventral D-ring

User feedback alerted us to premature wear of the screws on the gated ventral attachment point on ASTRO rope access harnesses manufactured before October 2023 (harnesses that were affected by our call for inspection in 2023, including CANYON GUIDE harnesses).

This wear can cause the ventral D-ring’s pin to release, and the attachment point to open, which could lead to serious injury or death. This is why we ask that you replace the metal D-ring and the screws on the gated ventral attachment point, upon receiving the replacement kit.

This afternoon, I joined residents and business owners from Tebay to present our petition to Number 10 Downing Street, calling for changes to controversial plans to partially close Junction 38 of the M6 for four years.

Of course we absolutely agree that the work that engineers are doing to rebuild bridges across the motorway is vitally important. No one would dispute this.

However, the disruption set to be caused by these closures over the next four years will have devastating impacts.

This will include significant damage to tourism in both the Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales, as well as huge delays for people living in Tebay, Orton, Grayrigg, and other villages near the junction, and to local businesses in the area. And it will see motorway traffic being diverted through the already under-strain Kendal and Kirkby Stephen town centres.

Building temporary slip roads would keep the junction open, reduce these enormous impacts, and allow this essential project to still go ahead.
