📢 Important Club Announcement

Newport (Salop) RUFC will soon be moving over to a new official page.

To streamline our communications and ensure the club has full control of its online presence, we’ll now be using the page previously known as “Women and Girls Rugby at Newport (Salop) RUFC” as the main page for the entire club.

This change comes after ongoing issues with admin access on our old page, which have made it difficult to manage effectively. Moving to the new page means all teams, updates, fixtures, results, and events will be shared in one place — making it easier for everyone to stay connected, and improve the integration of all our social media channels and website.

Following on from the 1st XV and 3rd XV’s Friday night fixtures. Today at The Old Showground saw Newport 2nd XV started their preseason in style with an impressive 31-12 victory over Kidderminster Carolians RFC

👏 A fantastic weekend of rugby across all squads, building momentum as the season draws closer.

📅 The next block of pre-season fixtures kicks off on Saturday 16th August with The Burton Rugby Football Club Ltd. Visiting The Old Showground when we will also be welcoming sponsors new and old to a mixer BBQ 🍖🥩 . This’ll be a great opportunity for our sponsors to get a feel for our plans for the 25/26 season, chat with our committee, management, players and fellow sponsors! 🏉 Friday Night Pre-Season Results 🏉

🔥 1st XV put on a dominant display, defeating COBRA Rugby Club 40-7.

💪 3rd XV showed great spirit with a strong second-half fightback, coming from 14-0 down, but were edged out 17-14 by a strong Burntwood Rugby Club.

Great effort all round as the boys get valuable minutes under their belts! Good luck to the 2s tomorrow who take on Kidderminster Carolians RFC at The Old Showground 🏟️

Here’s how we line up for the first block of pre-season games this weekend, with the 1st XV kicking things off against COBRA Rugby Club and the 3rd XV travelling to face Burntwood Rugby Club! Tomorrow the 2nd XV are at The Old Showground against Kidderminster 🎉

When you’ve got the best grounds team, it’s no surprise our pitches are also the best in Shropshire! Despite the dry weather 🌞 The Old Showground is looking fantastic ready for the start of the new season! 🏉
