For Mental Health Awareness Week, I want to talk about the inner belief systems so many people silently carry around every single day.
The thoughts that say:
“I’m not good enough.”
“I always get it wrong.”
“Nobody really cares.”
“What if I fail?”
When these thoughts repeat often enough, they stop feeling like thoughts and start feeling like facts. They can keep your nervous system in a constant state of stress, overwhelm and overthinking.
But your thoughts are not your identity.
A dysregulated nervous system will often look for danger, rejection and failure, even when you are safe. That’s why learning to calm the body is just as important as challenging the mind.
Small things really do make a difference:
• Slowing your breathing
• Getting outside in nature
• Grounding yourself through your senses
• Moving your body gently
• Reducing overstimulation
• Journalling your thoughts instead of holding them in
• Speaking to yourself with more compassion
• Bringing yourself back into the present moment
The more you bring yourself into the here and now, the more you activate the frontal cortex, the part of the brain responsible for rational thinking, emotional regulation and perspective. Over time, this can help soften the cycle of anxiety and overthinking.
Healing does not usually happen in one big moment.
It happens in small repeated moments where you choose yourself again and again.
If you feel you need extra support, you’re welcome to message me about one-to-one trauma support, trauma-informed guidance, or small supportive workshops where you can learn more about your mental health, your nervous system, and why you think, feel and respond the way you do

Grounding is one of the simplest ways to calm an overwhelmed mind and reconnect with yourself.
When anxiety rises or emotions feel too heavy, take a moment to pause. Stand barefoot on the grass, notice your breathing, feel the earth beneath you, and bring yourself back to the present moment.
Grounding reminds us that we are supported, connected, and safe, even during difficult times. Small moments of calm can make a big difference to our mental wellbeing.
This Mental Health Awareness Week, give yourself permission to slow down, breathe deeply, and reconnect with the world around you.
What helps you feel grounded when life feels overwhelming? Share your favourite grounding techniques in the comments 💙

Mental Health Awareness Week feels like an important reminder that healing mental health is not just about “thinking differently” it’s also about feeling safe within our own nervous system.
So many of us are living in survival mode without even realising it. Constant stress, overwhelm, anxiety, people-pleasing, emotional shutdown, overthinking… these are often nervous system responses, not personality flaws.
Real healing begins when we stop fighting ourselves and start working *with* the body instead of against it. Slowing down. Regulating. Resting without guilt. Creating safety within ourselves.
You cannot heal in the same state your body has been stuck surviving in.
This week, instead of asking yourself “What’s wrong with me?” try asking:
“What does my nervous system need from me right now?”
If this resonates with you, leave a ❤️ in the comments or share this with someone who needs the reminder that healing is possible.
If you’re ready to begin healing on a deeper level, I offer 1-2-1 healing sessions and supportive workshops designed to help you work with your nervous system at your own pace and within your own capacity.

Fabulous day supporting people to help themselves and others. The impact on those that took place was fabulous to watch.
06/05/2026
We all bring something with us to work every day.
Not just our skills, experience, or ideas… but our personal experiences too.
And for many, that includes trauma.
The question is, do we recognise it?
Do we notice how it shows up in our reactions, our stress levels, our relationships at work, or even our confidence?
And if we do recognise it, what are we doing about it?
Some people carry it quietly, pushing through each day.
Some would welcome more support in the workplace but are unsure how to ask.
Others may prefer to work through it in a more personal, private way.
There is no one right answer.
But awareness matters.
Choice matters.
Support matters.
Workplaces are starting to have more open conversations around wellbeing, but there is still more to be done to create environments where people feel safe, understood, and supported, without judgement.
If this resonates with you, you are not alone.
And if you are ready to explore it, support is here.
Through Mochelleede Women Empowered and ME Mental Health Exploration, I offer a safe space to understand, process, and move forward in a way that feels right for you.
Because you do not have to carry it on your own.

Returning to work after the weekend… how did it feel for you?
Were you looking forward to it, or quietly dreading the alarm this morning?
That feeling matters more than we sometimes admit.
Because it often tells a deeper story.
Do you feel supported in your role?
Do you feel valued and heard?
Or does something feel off, but you cannot quite put your finger on it?
And if you can identify the reason, have you shared it?
If you have spoken up, did you feel truly listened to and supported?
Or did it feel like your voice got lost somewhere along the way?
Workplaces are made up of people, not just processes.
How people feel shapes everything, including performance, culture, retention, and wellbeing.
Leaders do not need to have all the answers.
But creating space for honest conversations is where real change starts.
So today, whether you felt energised or uneasy returning to work, it is worth asking yourself why.
And if you are in a position to lead, it is worth asking your team the same question.
Because understanding how people feel is not a nice to have, it is essential.

Tension in the workplace rarely appears out of nowhere.
It shows up as poor communication.
Frustration between colleagues.
Increased sickness and time off.
Low morale that quietly spreads across teams.
And often, what sits underneath all of this… is unspoken mental health struggle.
When people don’t feel able to express what they need, they disconnect.
When communication breaks down, resentment builds.
And when wellbeing is overlooked, performance inevitably follows.
But it doesn’t have to be this way.
At ME Mental Health Exploration, I work with organisations to bring practical mental health awareness into the workplace — not just as a tick-box exercise, but as something your team can genuinely use.
✔️ Helping staff communicate more openly
✔️ Building understanding between colleagues
✔️ Creating a culture where people feel heard and supported
✔️ Reducing unnecessary tension, absence, and burnout
Because when your people feel better, they work better — together.
If you’re noticing these challenges in your workplace, it may be time to approach things differently.
Feel free to get in touch to explore how I can support your team.

Are things starting to slip on your shop floor?
More sickness.
More stress.
Managers with no time to actually support their team.
It’s not that they don’t care.
They’re just stretched.
And when mental health gets pushed to the side, everything else starts to suffer too.
But when people feel understood, they work better.
When they feel safe, they speak up.
When they feel supported, they stay.
This is what trauma-informed workplaces create.
Imagine a team that:
Communicates early instead of letting things build up
Handles challenges without everything landing on the manager
Supports each other day to day
Feels calmer, more focused, more productive
That’s not just a “nice to have”
That’s how strong businesses run.
I help organisations build this through:
Mental health awareness training
Trauma-informed programmes
Practical, real-world staff development
Less pressure on managers
Less absence
Better performance across the board
If your team is feeling the strain and something needs to change, let’s talk.

If you manage people, you are already impacting their mental health:
Every conversation
Every decision
Every reaction
The question is not whether you have an impact
It is whether you feel equipped to handle what you’re seeing
Because a lot of leaders right now are dealing with stress, burnout and difficult behaviours
Without ever being shown what is actually driving it
That’s the gap
Not care, not intention but Capability!
This is why trauma informed mental health is becoming the next step in the workplace
Not just noticing when someone is struggling
But understanding why
And knowing how to respond
Because when leaders feel equipped, everything changes
People feel safer
Trust grows
Performance improves,
and the workplace becomes a healthier place to be
If you’re seeing this in your team, you’re not alone
And you don’t have to figure it out on your own
What are you seeing in your workplace right now?

Being a trauma-informed workplace does NOT mean providing therapy.
It means understanding what’s really driving behaviour in your team, and responding in a way that actually works.
Because stress and trauma don’t just stay at home.
They show up in the workplace as:
• Difficult conversations
• Increased conflict
• Poor communication
• Burnout and sickness
With over 20 years in the mental health sector and the last 7 years working directly with trauma, I’ve seen first hand how these patterns develop, and how they can be managed.
This isn’t just training for managers.
It’s about equipping whole teams with the awareness and understanding to support each other day-to-day, so issues don’t always need to escalate.
I help organisations:
• Spot early signs of distress before they escalate
• Handle difficult conversations with more confidence
• Reduce conflict and complaints within teams
• Create a culture where staff feel supported, not overwhelmed
Which also means managers aren’t carrying everything alone.
And the impact on the business?
• Fewer sickness absences
• Better staff retention
• Stronger, more resilient teams
• More time for managers to actually focus on their role
When people understand behaviour properly, everything shifts.
That’s where real change begins.
If you’re looking to support your team in a more practical, sustainable way, let’s have a conversation.
