๐๐คWilley 1sts Match Report
A game against ๐ of the league for the 1sts this week knowing it will be a tough game and really needing a result to push us out of the bottom 2โผ๏ธ
๐ตโ๐ซThe day started off in a strange fashion with us winning the toss for only the 3rd time all season ๐ซฃ
๐ดElecting to bowl first, hoping to make the most of the overhead condition and it worked as opening pair Kieron Hatton (4-31 from 9) and Cameron Wallis (2-41) ๐ taking the top with them!!
๐ดShane Hatton (1-9) and Will Brown (3-7) took the remaining wickets and bowling frankwell out for just 99๐ฌ.
๐The Chase didnโt go exactly to plan as we lost early wickets!! And the frankwell bowling attack put in a great display ๐๐ผ๐๐ผ๐๐ผ
๐Cameron Wallis (12) being the pick of the top 5
๐Then Iwan Morgan (18) came in and played an extremely patient innings and steadied the flow of wickets
๐Fortunately, we dug deep and our 9 and 10 did the damage as Tim Bellett (20*) and Callum Bailey (13*) took us home
๐๐ผWe finished on 102-8 from 39.2 overs
This was a huge win for us as it takes us out of the bottom 2 with just 5 games remaining ๐ค
We travel to Wheaton Aston on Saturday hoping to get another win under our belts๐๐ผ

๐๐คWilley 2nds Match Report
๐ Willey faced their last long distance trip of the season on Saturday, as they travelled down the A5 and beyond to Cae Glas.
๐งFaced with a very brown and dry outfield but a bushy, green and damp wicket, the toss was extremely ๐ตโ๐ซimportant to gain early momentum on the game.
Thankfully Willey won it and wasted no time putting the hosts in and chipping away at the wicket column.
Rory Lloyd (3-45 from 11) and Taylor Rudd (2-18 from 7) bowling very well in tandem with the new ball causing the hosts all kinds of issues. ๐ฅด
The outfield was lightening โก๏ธquick so Willey knew they had to be on the ball in the field, as a potentially huge score was on the cards if the man was beaten, and field well they did, especially in the catching ๐๐ผdepartment as the Barrow boys held onto everything that came their way, none more so than Chris Rudd who held 4 of them on his own to the amazement of his teammates! ๐คฃ๐คฃ๐คฃ
Graham ball also put a familiar shift in with ball as his 12 controlled overs yielded just 39 runs and gobbled 4 wickets to boot! ๐๐ผ๐๐ผ๐๐ผ
Cae glas finished on 173 all out at the tea interval and gave Willey a catch able target with the right approach.
๐ฌDespite losing an early wicket, Lindsey Rudd and Stuart Sheperd set about the home attack๐ฅ๐ and looked good to run the bottle greens home, before Rudd was trapped LBW for 39. Graham ball joined Sheperd with the team score in triple figures, and the pair continued the charge. Sheperd was in his usual cat๐like form, and frustrated the home bowlers with his manipulation of the attack, before finally falling on 59 to a smart catch behind. ๐ต
Ball (41 not out) bought the game home with some responsibile batting, and along side Chris Rudd (10 not out), who despite holding everything in the field still managed 2 balls in the face while batting, gave the Barrow boys maximum points ๐๐ผ and a much needed momentum building win.
Willey now face Oswestry at home on Saturday and hopefully a matching performance to haul them back into the right area of the league table. ๐ฎโ๐จ๐ฎโ๐จ๐ฎโ๐จ

Willey 3rds produced a superb allโround performance this weekend, securing a dominant 116โrun win over Wellington 6th XI.
๐ฅ Batting Highlights
Willey set the tone early with a powerful display at the crease, piling on 292โ5 from 40 overs.

๐Useful contributions from S McCutcheon (20) and Joseph Duppa (21) ensured Willey finished with a total that always looked tough to chase.
๐๐ผThe Moment of the Match โ Joseph Duppaโs Catch
Wellingtonโs innings hinged on their lead batter, S Chandler, who was looking well set on 59. Then came the turning point.
A sharp chance flew from Iwan Morganโs bowling to Joseph Duppa, who reacted instantly but with the โ๏ธ directly in his eyes , taking a superb catch that removed Wellingtonโs main threat.
