๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ–คWilley 1sts Match Report
A game against ๐Ÿ” of the league for the 1sts this week knowing it will be a tough game and really needing a result to push us out of the bottom 2โ€ผ๏ธ

๐Ÿ˜ตโ€๐Ÿ’ซThe day started off in a strange fashion with us winning the toss for only the 3rd time all season ๐Ÿซฃ

๐Ÿ”ดElecting to bowl first, hoping to make the most of the overhead condition and it worked as opening pair Kieron Hatton (4-31 from 9) and Cameron Wallis (2-41) ๐Ÿ˜Ž taking the top with them!!

๐Ÿ”ดShane Hatton (1-9) and Will Brown (3-7) took the remaining wickets and bowling frankwell out for just 99๐Ÿ˜ฌ.

๐ŸThe Chase didnโ€™t go exactly to plan as we lost early wickets!! And the frankwell bowling attack put in a great display ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ

๐ŸCameron Wallis (12) being the pick of the top 5

๐ŸThen Iwan Morgan (18) came in and played an extremely patient innings and steadied the flow of wickets

๐ŸFortunately, we dug deep and our 9 and 10 did the damage as Tim Bellett (20*) and Callum Bailey (13*) took us home

๐Ÿ‘Š๐ŸผWe finished on 102-8 from 39.2 overs

This was a huge win for us as it takes us out of the bottom 2 with just 5 games remaining ๐Ÿค—

We travel to Wheaton Aston on Saturday hoping to get another win under our belts๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿผ

๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ–คWilley 2nds Match Report
๐Ÿš— Willey faced their last long distance trip of the season on Saturday, as they travelled down the A5 and beyond to Cae Glas.
๐ŸงFaced with a very brown and dry outfield but a bushy, green and damp wicket, the toss was extremely ๐Ÿ˜ตโ€๐Ÿ’ซimportant to gain early momentum on the game.
Thankfully Willey won it and wasted no time putting the hosts in and chipping away at the wicket column.
Rory Lloyd (3-45 from 11) and Taylor Rudd (2-18 from 7) bowling very well in tandem with the new ball causing the hosts all kinds of issues. ๐Ÿฅด
The outfield was lightening โšก๏ธquick so Willey knew they had to be on the ball in the field, as a potentially huge score was on the cards if the man was beaten, and field well they did, especially in the catching ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿผdepartment as the Barrow boys held onto everything that came their way, none more so than Chris Rudd who held 4 of them on his own to the amazement of his teammates! ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ
Graham ball also put a familiar shift in with ball as his 12 controlled overs yielded just 39 runs and gobbled 4 wickets to boot! ๐Ÿ‘Š๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ‘Š๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ‘Š๐Ÿผ
Cae glas finished on 173 all out at the tea interval and gave Willey a catch able target with the right approach.
๐Ÿ˜ฌDespite losing an early wicket, Lindsey Rudd and Stuart Sheperd set about the home attack๐Ÿ’ฅ๐Ÿ and looked good to run the bottle greens home, before Rudd was trapped LBW for 39. Graham ball joined Sheperd with the team score in triple figures, and the pair continued the charge. Sheperd was in his usual cat๐Ÿˆlike form, and frustrated the home bowlers with his manipulation of the attack, before finally falling on 59 to a smart catch behind. ๐Ÿ˜ต
Ball (41 not out) bought the game home with some responsibile batting, and along side Chris Rudd (10 not out), who despite holding everything in the field still managed 2 balls in the face while batting, gave the Barrow boys maximum points ๐Ÿ‘†๐Ÿผ and a much needed momentum building win.
Willey now face Oswestry at home on Saturday and hopefully a matching performance to haul them back into the right area of the league table. ๐Ÿ˜ฎโ€๐Ÿ’จ๐Ÿ˜ฎโ€๐Ÿ’จ๐Ÿ˜ฎโ€๐Ÿ’จ

๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ–คWilley Ladies - News from last night โ€ฆ

๐ŸA brilliant game between two evenly matched sides, with Allscott just edging it in the final over.

๐Ÿ’šWilley posted 133โ€“4, built on smart partnerships and a classy knock from Gemma Foster, who opened for the team and delivered with style โ€” 30 (27) of controlled, boundaryโ€‘finding batting. She then backed it up with outstanding boundary fielding, saving run after run.
Strong contributions followed from Issy Walters (16), Cath Searle (12), Helen Jones (21) and an unbeaten finish from Lizzy Leek (21)* and Captain, Rachel Jones (4)*.

๐Ÿ‘๐ŸผAllscott chased well, finishing 134โ€“4 in 18.5 overs, but Willey pushed them all the way.

๐Ÿ”ดWith the ball, Rachel Jones led the attack with 2 wickets, supported by Becki White, Helen Jones, Issy Walters, Carla Brassington and Jodie Foster, all working hard against a disciplined batting unit. A great partnership from Becki and Issy saw a crucial run out.

๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ–ค Willey Ladies v Ellesmere Ladies ๐Ÿ

A brilliant win for the Willey Ladies! ๐ŸŽ‰

The ladies put in a fantastic all-round performance against Ellesmere, coming away with a well-deserved 8-wicket victory! ๐Ÿ‘

Ellesmere batted first as the visitors, finishing their 20 overs on 101/8. Willeyโ€™s bowling and fielding kept the pressure on throughout, with some great spells and plenty of energy in the field. ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿ

Then it was Willeyโ€™s turn with the bat, and what a response! ๐Ÿ˜ The ladies chased down the target in just 14 overs, finishing on 104/1 and securing the win with plenty to spare!

There were some brilliant contributions throughout the team, with everyone playing their part and showing exactly what Willey Ladies cricket is all about โ€” teamwork, encouragement and plenty of fun along the way! ๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ–ค

๐Ÿš€ Captainโ€™s Player โ€“ Issy Walters ๐Ÿš€

Issy was absolutely on point with the ball, putting in a furious bowling performance and causing plenty of problems for the Ellesmere batters! ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐ŸOur captainโ€™s little pocket rocket ๐Ÿš€ was full of energy and determination, giving it everything and setting the tone for the team. A thoroughly deserved Captainโ€™s Player! ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ–ค

๐Ÿ Willey 3rd XI Match Report โ€“ Victory by 116 Runs!

Willey 3rds produced a superb allโ€‘round performance this weekend, securing a dominant 116โ€‘run win over Wellington 6th XI.
๐Ÿ”ฅ Batting Highlights
Willey set the tone early with a powerful display at the crease, piling on 292โ€“5 from 40 overs.
๐ŸI Morgan led the charge with a commanding 81 (73)*, striking 12 fours and 2 sixes in a classy innings.
๐ŸM Smout kept the momentum flowing with a fluent 66 (61) featuring 13 boundaries.
๐ŸR Cooper added a vital 50 (49), peppering the rope with 9 fours.
๐ŸUseful contributions from S McCutcheon (20) and Joseph Duppa (21) ensured Willey finished with a total that always looked tough to chase.

๐Ÿ™Œ๐ŸผThe Moment of the Match โ€“ Joseph Duppaโ€™s Catch
Wellingtonโ€™s innings hinged on their lead batter, S Chandler, who was looking well set on 59. Then came the turning point.
A sharp chance flew from Iwan Morganโ€™s bowling to Joseph Duppa, who reacted instantly but with the โ˜€๏ธ directly in his eyes , taking a superb catch that removed Wellingtonโ€™s main threat.

Bowling Performance
Willeyโ€™s bowlers backed up the batting effort with discipline, restricting Wellington to 176โ€“9.
The standout figures:
๐Ÿ”ด I Slater was outstanding, taking 4 wickets for 28 from his 7 overs, including a maiden.
๐Ÿ”ด B Cope delivered a brilliant spell of control: 8 overs, 2 maidens, 2 wickets for just 11 runs.
๐Ÿ”ด D Thomas kept things tight with 1โ€“9 from 8 overs, including 3 maidens.
๐Ÿ”ด P Evans and I Morgan chipped in with important wickets to keep the pressure on throughout.

With tight lines, smart fielding, and that crucial catch from Duppa, Willey closed out a convincing win and collected 20 wellโ€‘earned points (and a point for the scoring team.)
