What a few weeks it’s been! Our 5th team wrapped up the Sunday Division 3 title, this is something we are incredibly proud of from a team consisting of 7+ juniors each week. The consistency has been great to see 🙌 Today our 2nd team clinched promotion to Division 1 meaning back to back promotions 😎 The 2nd team put together a phenomenal run of form mid season seeing them win 11 and 1 winning draw. Our 3rd team rounded off the season with a win away at Guilsfield to secure 3rd place in division 6 pushing the top 2 all the way until the last game.

Our 4th team have their last game of the season tomorrow hoping to finish on a strong note having already locked in a 3rd place finish in Sunday Division 1

And last but not least our 1st team, achieving an incredible 2nd place finish in the Shropshire Premier League losing just 2 games all season and with a 100% win rate in the red ball campaign. HOWEVER they aren’t finished yet, they travel to New Road Worcester tomorrow hoping to win the National T20 plate and cap off what has been a great year for the club and every team.

Thankyou to all volunteers / groundsman / sponsors and supporters for everything this season and we look forward to 2027 💪

🏏💯 A HUGE CONGRATULATIONS, JAMIE! 💯🏏

Everyone at St Georges CC is incredibly proud of you reaching the fantastic milestone of scoring your FIRST SENIOR 100 (not out)!

What a fantastic achievement and a brilliant moment for Jamie and St Georges - to see one of our own come through the club and build an innings the way you did was nothing short of outstanding. 💙

Congratulations and here’s to the first of many, Jamie! 👏🔥

St.Georges CC members past and present were shocked and saddened to hear of the sudden passing of Anthony Hyde on Monday 8th June. Hydey was a St.Georges player from his teenage years and became known as an accomplished off-spinner. He played junior and senior cricket at the club, including a spell as 1st XI captain from the year 2000 when we were first promoted into the Birmingham League. He later played for a few other Shropshire clubs and was most recently a Newport player. Our condolences go to his family. Funeral arrangements will be posted in due course.

It was with great sadness that we recently learned of the passing of Ray Tilt.
Ray was for many years a well liked and respected member of St.Georges Cricket Club. Like many volunteers, he first got involved as a parent. His two sons Stephen and Matthew played junior and senior cricket at St.Georges - Matthew eventually becoming 1st XI captain as well as representing Shropshire senior side.
A lifelong cricket enthusiast, Ray was hugely influential in the development of junior cricket at the club, and many former junior players have him to thank for their introduction to the game. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Our condolences go to his family.

The funeral will take place at Telford Crematorium on Tuesday 16th June at 2:30 pm and afterwards at St.Georges Sports & Social Club

Archie produced a superb innings, showing great skill, composure and determination to reach three figures and help drive the team forward. Reaching a century is one of cricket’s greatest achievements, and this was a knock to remember.
