As another amazing swimming year comes to an end, I wanted to take a moment, from the bottom of my heart, to say thank you.
To every one of our wonderful swimmers, parents and carers, thank you for your continued support, loyalty and trust. Whether you've been with us for years or only joined us recently, you are all part of the Duck N' Dive family.
The progress our swimmers have made this year has been incredible. We've celebrated first splashes, first independent swims, new badges, personal milestones and so many proud moments. Seeing children grow in confidence, not just in the water but as young people, is exactly why we do what we do.
We can't wait to welcome many of you to our Summer School and then begin another exciting year together.
There are also so many people working behind the scenes who deserve recognition.
A huge thank you to our wonderful pool providers.
💙 The Ramada Hotel and every member of staff who work tirelessly behind the scenes to make sure our lessons run smoothly each and every week.
💙 Mercure Hotel and Move Health & Fitness for their continued support and everything they do for Duck N' Dive.
💙 Haughton Hall, our fantastic new venue which opened for us this spring. We've loved becoming part of your community and getting to know all of the wonderful staff and friendly faces.
💙 Wrekin College, whose fantastic 25-metre pool gives our squad swimmers the opportunity to challenge themselves and become stronger, more confident swimmers.
To my incredible team...
Lucy, Beth, Mia Carpenter, Mia Lane and Sally... thank you. Your patience, kindness, dedication and passion shine through in every lesson. You care about every swimmer as if they were your own, and that is something money simply cannot buy.
Sally, although you've moved on to pastures new, thank you for still stepping in whenever you're needed. You'll always be part of the Duck N' Dive family.
To our brilliant assistant teachers, thank you too. Your encouragement, enthusiasm and willingness to learn help create the positive, fun environment that our swimmers love. You're all becoming wonderful role models for the younger children.
Finally, from me...
People often think we simply teach children to swim. We do so much more than that.
We help nervous children find confidence. We celebrate the child who finally puts their face in the water after weeks of trying. We comfort those who are anxious. We cheer louder than anyone when a badge is achieved. We laugh together, we learn together and sometimes we even wipe away a few tears together.
Some of our swimmers joined us as tiny babies in our parent and toddler classes. We've watched them grow through every stage, become squad swimmers, assistant teachers and even instructors. We've seen friendships formed that still exist years later. We've supported families through happy times and difficult ones, and many of those families have become lifelong friends.
That's what Duck N' Dive is.
Our relationships don't end when the lesson finishes or when a swimmer earns their final badge. Once you're part of Duck N' Dive, you'll always be part of our story.
Thank you for allowing us to be part of yours.
Have the most wonderful summer. We can't wait to see so many of you at Summer School, and we look forward to welcoming everyone back for another year of smiles, achievements, confidence and memories.
