THIS IS SO EXCITING! 😆

AFC Telford United Foundation has joined forces with Telford town FC to launch the SEAH Pan-Disability Cup for teams from across the Midlands.

The event, which will be held at the AFC Telford United (Official) SEAH Stadium Goal Zone in Wellington on July 5th, will bring teams together for a day of football, community activities and friendship.

The idea was the brainchild of staff from both organisations, who met in a series of friendly games and immediately recognised the potential for a festival.

There will be games for teams in all age groups, from Under-12s, through to Under-16s and Over-16s, with medals for all participants.

Ian Preece, Managing Director of AFC Telford United Foundation, said: “We have been running pan-disability football sessions for a number of years and they’ve always been really well attended.

“Our sessions allow players of all abilities to simply enjoy playing football in a fun and inclusive environment.

“When we met Telford Town’s teams for some friendly games a few weeks ago, we began talking about a festival and we all thought, why not?

“We’re inviting teams from all over the Midlands to join us on July 5th and make it a true celebration of the very best that pan-disability football has to offer.

“We’ll have games for all age groups, along with community activities, food and even perhaps visits from some very special guests.”

Teams and organisations interested in playing or staging community events at the festival should contact Ian Preece at [email protected].

Chris Lowe, Head of Disability Football at Telford Town, said: “We believe that everyone should have a chance to love football and that’s what our programme is all about.

“Since we launched a few years ago, we’ve seen players of all abilities develop and grow in confidence, just as a result of playing football with us.

“I am really looking forward to bringing the disability football community together on July 5th, for what promises to be an absolutely fantastic day for everyone.

“There are some great disability programmes in our region, so I urge them all to take part and give their players a football festival to remember.”

Stuart Fletcher, Head Coach of AFC Telford United Foundation’s Pan-Disability Football Programme, added: “This festival is a brilliant way of cementing friendships within disability football in the Midlands.

“We get on really well with Chris and everyone at Telford Town, so this is the perfect collaboration for both organisations.

“I see first hand how much our players grow at every session we hold, so I know they will be excited to play football, have fun and make new friends.

“It is going to be a fantastic day for everyone and I urge anyone who wants to play or just help out, to get in touch.”
