40 years ago in 1986, the Royal Marines set a legendary British record with a 24-way canopy formation.

Yesterday, our Team Leader Steve took part in the squad has rewritten the UK Canopy Formation history.

British Skydiving are beyond proud to announce a NEW BRITISH RECORD, a massive 27-way Canopy Formation!

Beating a record set by the Royal Marines was no easy task, but with incredible precision, skill, and sheer determination, it was done.

Join us in saying a massive congratulations to all 27 jumpers, pilots, ground crew, and camera flyers who made this historic achievement possible!

Canopy Piloting is one of skydiving’s fastest and most technical disciplines, combining speed, precision and canopy control inches above the ground.

A strong result for Wings Display Team member Liam, finishing 2nd overall in the UK National Competition and taking the silver medal 🥈.

High-performance canopy flight demands accuracy, commitment and extremely fine margins — skills that translate directly into the precision flying required for display parachuting.

Another medal for the team and a great result from the competition.
