A few weeks ago I headed down to Wyre Forest to do the parkrun there.

Headed over to Birmingham to take part in the Unity 5k.

We also go to see the marathon for the European Athletics Championships.

Got to see a lot of good people.

I did my best but I was a couple of minutes outside my best 5k time.

Unofficial time of 23:39. Awaiting the chip time from organisers.

I got my D thanks to Delamere parkrun.

Such a lovely location for a parkrun. With a few carvings to see.

I got access to a world‑class stadium — and it was tough. This session pushed me to my limits, and honestly, I felt like I wasn’t the key demographic for this kind of club or event. But I had an amazing time anyway.

I ran laps on the same track that will host the European Athletics Championships this August — where legends like Keely Hodgkinson, Josh Kerr, and Jakob Ingebrigtsen will race. For one day, I got to experience what it’s like to run where the best in Europe will compete.

Was I out of my depth? Maybe. But that’s what makes it an adventure.
