Sadly I have to confirm that Thatcham Aiuchi Jiu Jitsu has closed for good, after about 15 years of running. It had been difficult to rebuild the club after being forced to close for 18 months duration the Covid period.
However, I would still recommend you try Auichi Jiu Jitsu at our Basingstoke Club. The association carries on.
Thatcham Aiuchi Jiu Jitsu
Thatcham Aiuchi Jiu Jitsu, we train at the Burdwood Centre in Thatcham on Mondays from 7pm till 9pm All beginners are welcome.
We are based on a traditional art but modernised to reflect today's society - this is in relation to both the way we teach/train and the techniques we teach/practice. Adults 18+, 16/17 years considered on merit with parental permission.
If you are thinking of starting a martial but are not sure. Go for it.
We are looking for new recruits to boost the club and welcome anyone interested to have a go.
You’ll need to get in touch before hand ideally, so we can register you and ensure you are insured for your taster session. (Quick online form to fill in). Your first session is free, so have a try and see if you like it.
You don’t need to be fit, that will come with time. Just be keen 🙂

Merry Xmas and Happy New Year to all.
We are back for our first session of 2023 on Monday 16th January.

Thatcham Jiu Jitsu has moved training nights to MONDAYS !
Aiming to please the crowd, we have shifted nights. A poll was made and it seems Mondays is a bigger crowd pleaser. Now we used to trian on Mondays a good while ago, so it not new…. Anyhow, the hall is available, so taking the moment.
See you all on our first Monday session next week :)
Its 2022 and time for everyone to get back on the mat. We all love Jiu Jitsu and need to burn off that xmas excess. Don't worry, we'll take it nice and slow at first so you can all build back up into it.
If you're new and want to try us out, get in touch, contact details on this page. You can't just drop by at the moment due to Covid, so give us a call first.
Don't worry that you're not fit enough or what ever, just come and have a go 😀

Fight Club Saturday 11th - let me know if you want a place otherwise I can’t book the hall 🤜👊💥
Thatcham Jiu Jitsu is back next Thursday 2nd September 7pm.
But you need to renew your Aiuchi membership and fill in your Covid declaration form.
Don’t wait ! Get it done and tell me you’ve done it, so I know that we will have a great first session.
Can’t wait, it’s been soooo long.
Cheers,
Paul.
Can’t wait until thatcham reopening ?
Basingstoke Aiuchi Jiu Jitsu club is open and now back to full contact training.
I attended Basingstoke for my first jiu jitsu session in 18 months last night.
Fantastic.. missed it soo much !
Good crowd there and great to see so many on the mat. They are running on Thursday 7pm-8:30pm. Turn up early to help set out mats and change.
You’ll need to fill in the Covid Members Declaration form and share to Mike , their Covid rep.
Also double check with them in advance of attending just in case they get a last minute cancellation of the use of their hall. The school can do this to them at times.
Due to Covid, they are now taking session fees electronically in advance. Ask about this too before going.
I’ll be there next week hopefully. For now I will carry on aching. I used muscles last night that i haven’t tested in ages 🙂
Cheers,
Paul.
Hi guys,
An update for you on the club reopening.
We have been closed since the beginning of Covid due to the ban on social contact. That was lifted in the UK on 19th July. Since then it been a case to ensure enough of the club members are ready to train again. This is mainly limited by those that want to get double vaccinated before returning to close contact training.
As such, the opening date is currently Thursday 2nd September !
Yes, we have to switch nights to Thursday due to issues with the hall booking while we have been closed.
New session times will be 7pm to 9pm Thursdays.
We will have to operate under our Covid guidelines. All attending will need to read the guidelines and then complete a Covid member declaration form both which can be found on Aiuchi.co.uk. You will also need to renew your Aiuchi membership too.
Hopefully, nothing significant changes between now and the 2nd. 1 month to go. I can’t wait to see you all on the mat again.
Cheers,
Paul.
