🏏 2ND XI RESULT β€”> PROMOTED! ⬆️

Theydon Bois 248/9 beat Springfield 3rd XI 48 all out by 200 runs

A brilliant day for the 2nd XI, who have now secured promotion after another outstanding performance.

Batting first, Asghar was superb with an unbeaten 112, taking him past an incredible 1,000 league runs for the season. A fantastic achievement and reward for the consistency he has shown all year.

He was well supported at the top by the brilliant emerging talent of Bhavrag Sohal, who chipped in with a cultured 35. Jalal added 25 before producing another remarkable performance with the ball, taking 6/18, while Sohal R claimed 3/20 as Springfield were dismissed for just 48.

A 200-run win, but most importantly it confirms promotion for the 2nd XI.

A huge amount of credit has to go to everyone who has represented the side this season. Different players have contributed at different times and the group have thoroughly earned the opportunity to move up a division.

Still cricket left to play and we’ll want to finish properly, but a fantastic achievement for the boys and another very special moment for the club.

Congratulations lads. πŸ‘πŸ’™πŸ¦Œ

A very good Saturday for both senior sides, with the 1st XI continuing their winning run and the 2nd XI moving to within touching distance of promotion.

1ST XI 294/8 BEAT GREAT BADDOW 243/7 BY 51 RUNS

Batting first at home, Kashyap made an excellent 85, while Nel scored 92 on his return to the side. Iqbal finished unbeaten on 22 as the 1s reached 294/8 from their 45 overs.
Great Baddow competed well throughout their reply and finished on 243/7.

The wickets were shared, with Victor, Petchey and Srinivasan taking two each, alongside a run-out.

With the league title already secured, it was pleasing to maintain the momentum, although there are still two matches remaining and the boys want to finish the season properly.

2ND XI 235 BEAT BASILDON & PITSEA 188 BY 47 RUNS

Another important result for the 2s as their promotion push moves into its final two matches.

Trevett led the batting with an excellent 71 from 46 balls, supported by Asghar with 42 and Dolan with 31, as Theydon posted 235.

The wickets were then shared across the attack. Poole took three, with van Rensburg J, Dolan and White taking two each, and Jalal claiming the other wicket, as Basildon & Pitsea were dismissed for 188.

The 2s now need bonus points from their final two games to confirm promotion.
.
Nothing is being taken for granted, but the side deserves huge credit for putting itself in such a strong position.

Thank you to Great Baddow and Basildon & Pitsea for the games, and all the best for the remainder of the season.

πŸ† CHAMPIONS πŸ†

Theydon Bois CC 1st XI are Mid Essex Second Division Champions.

A brilliant day at Writtle yesterday and one that will live long in the memory.

Put into bat against an in-form Writtle side, we posted 289/5, led by a superb maiden league 1st XI hundred from Adams (100), with important contributions from Bullivant (38) on his return to the side and Trevett (38).

Writtle fought hard in reply, reaching 245/7, but the opening bowling partnership of Victor and Petchey did the damage again. Victor was phenomenal and ripped out 5 of Writtle’s top order with Petchey picking up one.

A 44-run win and 24 points.

And with three games still to play, that confirms something very special:

The 1st XI are division champions for the first time in over a decade. πŸ†

This has been a season built on togetherness, discipline, commitment, and a genuine belief that we could achieve something as one club.

Players have stepped up when needed, people have backed each other, and that winning mentality has grown stronger as the summer has gone on.

But this belongs to far more than the eleven players who take the field on a Saturday.

To everyone who has played, volunteered, supported, prepared teas, worked around the ground, brought their families down, helped with the juniors, stayed for a b**r, stood around the boundary, or simply got behind the club this year: thank you.

There are still three games left and plenty more cricket to enjoy, but this one deserves celebrating.

A long wait. Champions. And hopefully only the first step in where this club is going.

Thank you to Writtle for a good game and all the best for the rest of the season.

A strong Saturday for the Bois, with wins for both senior sides.

The 1st XI beat Epping Foresters by four wickets after chasing 246 in 42 overs.

Mills led the way with a superb 123, supported by an important middle order runs as the side reached 248/6.

Earlier, the bowlers worked hard to restrict Foresters to 245/9. Kashyap picked up three wickets, Petchey took two, and Victor produced another controlled spell.

The 2nd XI enjoyed an excellent 194-run victory over South Epping Foresters 2nd XI.

Batting first, the 2s posted 333/8, with Asghar making 78 and Trevett and Tunks both scoring 59.

The bowlers then completed the job, dismissing Epping Foresters for 139. Jalal and Poole took three wickets each, while Sohal B and White both picked up two.

Two good team performances and another positive Saturday for the club.

Thanks to both Foresters sides for the games and all the best for the rest of the season. πŸ’™πŸ¦Œ

A very good Saturday for the Bois, with wins for both senior sides.

The 1st XI came away from South Weald with a four-wicket win after chasing 257 in 41.5 overs.

Kashyap was top draw again at the top of the order, making 90 and setting the tone for the chase. Nel then produced a brilliant all-round performance: three wickets, a direct-hit run out, catch and an unbeaten 70 to see the side home. A genuine man-of-the-match display.

There were also useful contributions throughout the innings, while Srinivasan did an excellent job with the ball late on against some strong hitting. Credit as well to all the wicket-takers, with Victor, O’Grady and Kashyap all playing their part.

The 2nd XI also completed an excellent chase, beating South Weald 2nd XI by seven wickets.

After South Weald made 226/6, the 2s reached 229/3 in 34.4 overs. Venkatraman made a huge impact with the ball, dismissing the top three and setting the innings up brilliantly. The other wickets were shared between Sohal and van Rensburg J.

In reply, Trevett made a superb 79, Munir added 68, and van Rensburg J finished unbeaten on 35 to guide the side home.

Two strong chases, two good wins and another very positive Saturday for the club.

Thanks to South Weald for both games and all the best for the rest of the season. πŸ’™πŸ‡ΏπŸ‡¦
