🎉 WHAT A DAY! 90 YEARS & STILL GOING STRONG! 🎉
Yesterday we celebrated our club’s 90th Anniversary with our Bonkers Bowls Fun Day Fundraiser, and what a fantastic day it was! 💚

A HUGE, heartfelt THANK YOU to everyone who came along, joined in, laughed, played, ate, donated, bought raffle tickets and generally embraced the madness! 😂

And to those who couldn't be with us but still supported us by donating prizes, buying raffle tickets or making donations — thank you from the bottom of our hearts. ❤️

🥁 OUR FINAL TOTAL: £993.20! 🥁

What an amazing amount to put towards our new sprinkler system. Every single pound has been raised because of the generosity and support of our wonderful members, friends and local supporters.

We also owe some very special thank-yous:
❤️ Pat, Sarah Dimon & Rhona Worley — our amazing kitchen ladies. Without you, we'd have had a very hungry club! Your organisation, hard work and delicious food were absolutely brilliant. You really are angels!

🧠 Christopher Wright — thank you for the quiz! Loved it or hated it, hopefully you enjoyed it! 😂 Congratulations to our winners!
🌱 Richard Dimon& his team — thank you for getting the green looking marvellous. The hard work you put in really shows, and our green continues to improve year after year.

Finally, and most importantly, THANK YOU TO EVERYONE who helped make the day what it was. ❤️
Our club is so much more than just a bowling club. I hope it is a place where everyone feels welcome, included and able to escape from the stresses of everyday life for a while — somewhere to relax, have a laugh and enjoy being together.
When we first started these fundraisers with a little fish and chip supper, we raised around £55.
Look how far we've come! ❤️
Yesterday's £993.20 is another wonderful example of what we can achieve when we all pull together.
So give yourselves a MASSIVE pat on the back — you all played a part in making yesterday a brilliant success. 👏👏👏
90 years celebrated, nearly £1,000 raised, lots of prizes won, plenty of food eaten and a whole lot of fun had!
What more could we ask for? 🥳💚

The green has had its final cut of this 90th Anniversary season in readiness for our members end of season Fun afternoon tomorrow at 13:30. Next week is the last week the green will be open for social bowling as autumn maintenance will be starting next Sunday (20th September) so why not pop down as the forecast looks to be favourable. 😊 🌞

💚 SOWERBY FLATTS BOWLING CLUB – HELP US PROTECT THE NEXT 90 YEARS 💚

As we celebrate 90 years of Sowerby Flatts Bowling Club, we're also looking towards the future. 🎉

Our bowling green is the heart of our club, but our sprinkler system urgently needs replacing, with an estimated cost of £16,000–£24,000.
We are doing everything we can ourselves to save and raise as much as we can, just as our members have done with previous projects in the past and we are also applying for grants. But this is a much bigger job that needs professional help.

So we're asking our local businesses and community if you can help us reach our target. 💚
