Callow’s Yard was built with the history of the local area in mind; the name was inspired by its previous owner, Wilf Callow, who was a well- known and respected community member. The light blue shop facades are also in keeping with the traditional architecture of Castletown, dating back hundreds of years. The area provides an attractive complement to a day's visit to Castletown or a wander around the splendid beach and harbour. There are currently several changes taking place at Callow’s Yard to provide a more compelling offer of shops and entertainment as well as to enhance the open-air courtyard, bringing in community groups and local entertainers, artisans and traders.
