After a full weekend of hard work, grit and determination Sensei Craige has successfully passed his UK Shootboxing Instructors grading.

Craige now holds a 1st Dan Black Belt in UKSA Shootboxing, UKSA Kickboxing, UKSA Grappling and UKSA SVT Knockdown.

A massive thank you to Sensei Liam from UK Shootboxing Association for giving Craige this opportunity and sharing his knowledge and experience with him.

Also congratulations to Josh who also graded and passed this weekend, he was a machine!

New classes are on the horizon so keep your eyes peeled.

Congratulations Sensei, we knew you could do it!! 💪🏻🥋

This weekend Sensei Craige is in Longeaton at the UK Shootboxing Association to take part in their instructor grading.

He has been training hard in preparation for this grading over the last few months and this weekend he'll be putting it all to the test.

Please join us in wishing him luck and hopefully we'll have some new classes to offer soon 🥋

Good luck Sensei 💪🏻

Sensei Craige and Sensei Darren have had a fantastic day at the UK Shootboxing Association Shootboxing seminar today up in Long Eaton.

A big thank you to Liam for having us and to all the other martial artists there today for being amazing training partners.

They'll be back up there next weekend ready for Sensei Craige to grade under the UK Shootboxing syllabus to become a Shootboxing instructor.

Good luck Sensei!! 🥋

For the last couple of weeks our focus has been weapons.

Last night we saw some fantastic work in the dojo utilizing irimi against large weapon swings.

Well done everyone 🥋

A massive thank you to Liam from UK Shootboxing Association for taking time out of his day to come and visit us today in preparation for Sensei Craige's grading.

Sensei Craige and Sensei Darren have both enjoyed their afternoon of training and are looking forward to October 🥋

We had a wonderful early afternoon trip to visit UK Shootboxing Association members Bushi Jutsu Ryu as they prepare for the upcoming Shootboxing instructor grading.

All the techniques we covered are looking fantastic!

We have a good number of martial artists going for the grading this year as our second wave with instructors already confirmed for next year as our third wave.

More people are seeing that UK Shootboxing is a bridge between the traditional arts they practice and the modern ones. It provides a structured, supportive route of integration, practice and competition available for all practitioners.

Great job everyone at Bushi Jutsu Ryu!

It has been a year since we registered under the BMABA. That means licenses are now renewed and with some extra cover for our students and the club itself.

It also means that we're doing our annual recap of policies and qualifications. Over the weekend Katie was busy working on her Child Safeguarding and First Aid, passing with flying colours.

Keeping up to date with the law and changing policies is our number one priority to ensure that our students are kept safe at all times.

We want all our students and parents to know that we take the safety of all students extremely seriously and that if they ever have any concerns, no matter how small they may seem, they can reach out to us and we'll deal with any issues accordingly.

Today Sensei Darren attended a seminar at Tividale Shotokan Karate Club where they were hosting the phenomenal Sensei Simon Oliver.

Something we always encourage our students to do is visit other dojo, experience different styles and learn new skills that you can put into practice with your own training.

Darren has had a great morning of training, he has a new kata in his arsenal and some applications to go with it.

Fantastic way to spend your Saturday morning.

We had our first session back on Monday after our summer break and it was great to see so many back in the dojo.

We have no planned breaks now until Christmas so it's the perfect time to join us and have a go.

Why not come down for a free taster session?!?
