The Simple Life 🪨

I’ve just got back from a week in Fontainebleau, France, and damn do I feel good right now 🤸‍♀️

Seven days of climbing, walking, laughing, and spending more time outdoors than I have in a long time gave me exactly what I needed: space to slow down, reconnect with myself, and reflect.

And one of the things I found myself reflecting on most was my relationship with yoga.

Recently, my yoga practice has looked very different, partly because of injury, partly because I’m teaching less, and partly because life has changed a lot over the past few months.

I haven’t been spending as much time on my mat as I once did, and for a while I found myself questioning what that meant 🧐

But this trip reminded me of something that I hadn’t forgotten, but perhaps hadn’t prioritised.

Yoga isn’t just a physical practice, and it certainly isn’t something that only exists on the mat 🪷

The postures are one part of it, but the deeper practice is learning how to be in relationship with ourselves and the world around us.

It’s learning to pay attention.
To notice.
To be present.
And to meet life as it comes rather than constantly rushing towards what’s next.

And while I didn’t spend much time on an actual yoga mat last week, I found myself practising yoga every day 🌳 in quiet moments, in conversations with friends, and in slowing down enough to appreciate where I was 🌳

Of course, I still love practising on my mat and after a week away, I can’t wait to get back to it. But I think it’s important to remember that yoga can be practised anywhere. When we approach life with intention and awareness, its teachings have a way of seeping into every aspect of our lives🧘🏼‍♀️

Anyway this post is mostly just to say, hi, I’m back 👋

And if you’ve had some time away from your mat too, and are feeling called to reconnect with the physical side of your practice, I’d love to see you in the studio:

✨This Sunday | Extended Practice | 9:00am - 11:00am
✨ Monday | Feel Good Flow | 5:45pm & 7:00pm
✨ Tuesday | Movement Magic | 5:45pm

So… a lot has shifted for me recently ✨

One of the biggest changes being that I’ve stepped back into employed life alongside teaching yoga, which has meant making some changes to my schedule and stepping away from my classes and community

And if I’m honest, I’ve felt really sad about it. I know it was a change that needed to happen for my wellbeing, but it’s still been hard to say goodbye 😔

was such a huge part of my life for over 3 years. It wasn’t just somewhere I taught classes, but somewhere we built a real community together week after week.

I don’t think it’s talked about enough just how personal yoga teaching is. A class isn’t just a slot in your schedule or a room you teach in for an hour. It’s a space you build, nurture, and pour yourself into, where people come and actually choose to be guided by you, to listen, to move, to soften, and to trust you with their attention and energy 🥰

A class is never just a class. It becomes a space that represents you and everything you stand for.

So walking away from it has felt really strange, like something that held so much meaning and so much energy suddenly just… stopped.

I think part of what’s been difficult is that teaching exists so much in moments. Once a class ends, it’s gone. There’s nothing physical to hold onto afterwards, just the impact it had, the people you shared it with, and the version of yourself that existed inside it.

And I think that’s why it’s felt so emotional. Because all you’re really left with is the hope that in some way, you made a difference to people. That maybe someone left feeling a little lighter, a little calmer, a little more connected to themselves than when they arrived.

Anyway, I’m still here, still teaching, still creating, and still figuring out what this next chapter looks like 📚

And to everyone who was part of my Flow classes over the years, thank you ❤️

Thank you for trusting me, for showing up, and for being part of my crew. I love you guys and I can’t wait to see where your practice takes you next 🤸

Love,
Alice xoxo

I’m a bit late to the party but these Polaroids felt too precious not to share (still tryna work out how to take a pic of a Polaroid without a reflection, any ideas lemme know)

Forever grateful for my beautiful friends and family for being such legends, for making me laugh and for putting up with my s**t 🤣

I can’t believe I’m actually doing this…

I’m running a DAY RETREAT!🕺

I’ve been dreaming of hosting a retreat for this community for as long as I can remember. I’ve dabbled with the idea through workshops and Yoga Supper Clubs, but I’ve never fully committed to a longer event because, if I’m being totally honest, I didn’t think I could pull it off.

I’ve always had a really loud, annoying inner critic, and over the years, through my yoga practice, I’ve learnt to rise above my limiting beliefs and trust myself more. But unfortunately self-employment is the perfect breeding ground for imposter syndrome and it makes me question myself a lot more than I’d care to admit 🫣

But right now I’ve decided to just step into that fear and say f**k it!

I want to create a day for movement, play, and seasonal reset, so that’s exactly what I’m gonna do 🙌🏼 A space to reconnect with yourself, make new friends, and just have fun.

So drum roll please 🥁🥁🥁 I'm very excited to announce my...

Italy Part 1 - Napoli 🇮🇹

Finally getting round to sharing some holiday snaps and if I’m honest it’s taken me a bit of time to recover!

Napoli was CRAZYYY!! So much fun but such high energy. We ate so many delicious baked goods and soaked up the cities culture but it definitely didn’t go without its stresses 🫣

Feeling very grateful though to have had the chance to get away and learn some valuable lessons🍕

Practicing yoga at home is a total game changer!🤸‍♀️

While studio classes are fantastic for structure, guidance, and community, the real transformation happens in your home practice.

At home, you can slow down, truly listen to your body, and explore yoga on your own terms 🧘

Finding a balance between studio & home practice is what can take your practice to the next level.

When you practice at home, you’re in charge. You get to decide how long to practice, what to focus on, and how to move. It helps you build that connection to your intuition and learn to trust what your body needs👂

Having the self-discipline roll out your mat and practice on your own is no joke. It takes commitment, determination and willpower, but what you learn about yourself makes it totally worth it.

Imagine what you could achieve if you weren’t always exhausted or burnt out 🤤

As we all know life can be a real slog. It’s long and tiring and there’s always a few curveballs thrown in there. It’s too easy to get caught up in the hustle and forget to take a moment to recharge.

We’re condition to think that if we’re not grinding non stop and pushing through pain and exhaustion then you’re not working hard enough.

Well I call bulls**t 💩

Working hard doesn’t have to mean burning yourself out all the time 🔥🌶️

By learning to listen to your body and prioritise your self care, you’ll actually set yourself up for long-term success, wellbeing and joy.

Pretty cute right? 🥰

Ready to start listening to your body?

I’ve designed FREE 20-minute meditation to help you refocus and recharge. Taking 20mins to sit and be present may seem unproductive but trust me, you’ll feel more inspired and energised for the rest of your day 🙌🏼

PLAY IS FOR EVERYONE!!

Stop thinking play is exclusively for children. Adults need playtime too!!

Living in a more playful mindset is so important for our physical and mental health. It’s all too easy to get bogged down and rigid in adult life. Keep spicing things up with little nuggets of play and life will be a lot more enjoyable.

One of my favourite ways to play is through my yoga practice. What’s yours?
