Result in from our U12s Vulcans as they travelled Kings Hill FC Women & Girls (Sunday 20th September ) second game in league football.

We are delighted to report that they recorded a 3 0 win. With that win marks their first ever win in League Football

Talk about dominating a game from beginning to end and somehow not leaving with all three points.

We started brightly, putting Peters Village on the back foot from the opening whistle. We played some tidy football, kept possession high in the opposition’s final third and created opportunities through both wings.

That early pressure brought the opening goal. Alice’s shot was blocked and fell to Maddie on the edge of the area, who coolly thumped the ball across the goalkeeper and into the top-left corner.

We were first to most 50-50s, reacted quickly to the second balls and showed that the work from Wednesday’s training session had really sunk in. Tilly Lewis helped maintain the pressure from the back, repeatedly stepping forward to win possession and clear the danger before Peters Village could build an attack.

We could easily have scored another three or four before the interval, while some excellent defending meant Peters Village failed to register a single attempt on goal during the first half.

The second half began in much the same fashion, with several more promising attacks. However, as the game progressed, tiredness began to show in midfield. We stopped controlling possession as effectively and allowed them to play onto us, putting our defence under increasing pressure.

We defended several corners well and appeared to have weathered their brief revival. With chances continuing to come at the other end, however, it was beginning to feel like one of those afternoons when the decisive second goal would not arrive.

In the final minute, Peters Village forced another corner and were awarded a penalty following a tangle of players inside the area. Cleo got a hand to the resulting spot kick but could not quite keep it out.

Despite eight minutes of added time and one final push, our opponents defended their lines well and the game finished 1–1.

There is understandable disappointment because our performance deserved three points. However, it also underlines the importance of killing games off while we have the momentum. With greater depth available from the bench, we could have refreshed some tired legs and maintained our control during the final quarter, but we have so many injuries that didn't allow us that luxury today.

This was still an exceptionally encouraging team performance and another valuable learning experience. We are finding our feet in this division, but today showed that we have absolutely nobody to fear.

🏆 Manager’s Player of the Match: Katie, who was exceptional throughout and controlled the midfield superbly.

Special mentions also go to Tilly Brown for some quick reactions to keep out the oppositions quick striker and Alice for her excellent performance in midfield.

Two games, two points, and plenty of reasons to believe the wins are coming.

Result in from our tjfcu15 Buzzard from yesterday (Sunday 13th September )

Our Buzzard traveled to Pembury Athletic Youth FC for the second league game of the season and were looking to add to last week’s perfect start to league campaign. But also knew that it wouldn’t be an easy day at the office.

We are delighted to report that they came home with all 3 points and a second win of the season against a well drilled side

We thank Pembury Athletic Youth Football Club for the game and we wish them well for the the season

As for the Buzzards they welcome Paddock Wood Fc in the cup.
