We said a fond farewell to Lorna Goldup last night. After more than 10 years in charge of the Junior and Family sessions on Saturday evenings, Lorna decided that now was the right time to step away.

Lorna took charge when her own sons, Lewis and Owen were in the Junior section. After they left Lorna continued to devote her own time to the other Juniors, and was loved by all.

She hands the reins over to John Williams, who she has worked with for a few years now.

Lorna will now be able to hold impromptu family barbecues, devote more time to her allotment and relax!

As well as the Junior and Family sessions Lorna was an integral part of our successful Open Weekends of a few years ago, setting out the different exercises and controlling the running of the bowls hall. These events would not have been half as successful without her hard work over the 2 days each year.

Today’s local derby between Angels and Tonbridge bowling club ended with a 147-67 victory for our outdoor friends. At least they turned on the sunshine for us.

A very warm welcome was made by Tonbridge Outdoor club as we made a first foray outdoors.

It was a good introduction for some of our newer players who hadn't had the opportunity to play outdoors before.

And of course, good to see so many of our Angels who play at Tonbridge in the summer months.

Well done all who took part, and thank you for hosting us. We'll see you back indoors at the start of the winter season.
