Trowbridge welcomed Marshfield to the County Ground on Tuesday evening. In a competitive game played in great spirit, a strong Marshfield side came out on top, winning by a narrow margin of 9 runs with the game very much in the balance going into the final overs.

It was a fast scoring outfield with small boundaries, so the batters got good value for their shots and there were plenty of boundaries and excellent shots played on both sides of the wicket from the Trowbridge and Marshfield batters.

Trowbridge made a competitive first innings total and had Marshfield under pressure going into the final pair of the chase. Despite Trowbridge taking several wickets in those final overs, Marshfield scored freely and just got over the line.

A brilliant effort and another step forward in our development as a team and individually. A particular well done and congrats to Floss, who was making her hardball debut and did brilliantly against a seasoned and strong hardball team.

It might have taken 9 weeks... but we finally have our first triple of the season 😍

A great set of results last weekend as all 3 sides chased down respectable totals with plenty of wickets in hand 🏏

The u13 hardball team were deserved victors in last nights match against Marlborough in the early evening sunshine at Trowbridge.

The Trowbridge team got off to a slow start in the field and with the ball, and Marlborough were on course for a competitive first innings score. The first wicket didn’t fall until the 13th over, and it sparked the team into life and a flurry of wickets fell in the final overs. In that phase the girls took great catches, direct hit run-outs and challenged the stumps regularly when bowling.

The momentum from the last few overs bowling & fielding was taken straight into the run chase, and a brilliant opening partnership got the team off to a flyer. The rest of the batters continued in that vein and we saw some great shots and running between the wickets. There were signs of real improvement and lessons learnt from our last fixture against Potterne.

A big well done to all the team, and particular congratulations to Izzy who was making her hardball debut 👏👍
