WE NEED YOUR HELP!

The season is over, so it's time to complete the renovations of the square and put it to bed for the winter so it will be ready for our teams to play on next season.

Please come along and help, many hands make light work. We can find something for you to do to help, whatever skills you have.

We will be working from 10am both tomorrow, Saturday 19th September and Sunday 20th September.

Please come along and help We have a small team of dedicated volunteers spend countless hours caring for, cutting, rolling, marking and keeping the entire pitch ready for us to play each season. The work doesn't stop once the matches are done for another year.

Thank you and we look forward to seeing as many of you as possible over the weekend.

Thanks to some generous funding through the Community Benefit Fund administered by St Erme Parish Council we have been able to invest in some comprehensive renovations of the cricket pitch outfield at Castle Field. This work is currently underway. 👍 🚜

This should help improve the pitch significantly ready for the 2027 cricket season.

It's been a decent year for our bowlers.

Here’s a look at the top 10 bowlers stats across all three of our senior sides during the 2026 Cornwall Cricket League season.

🥇 Giles Francis – 33 wickets
113 overs | 11 maidens | 555 runs
Best: 6/56 | 2 five-wicket hauls | Economy: 4.91

🥈 Kyle Van Rooyen – 32 wickets
118 overs | 33 maidens | 393 runs
Best: 5/3 | 1 five-wicket haul | Economy: 3.33

🥉 Idrees Safi – 26 wickets
80.2 overs | 3 maidens | 367 runs
Best: 5/8 | 1 five-wicket haul | Economy: 4.57

And there was plenty more quality bowling behind them, with Callum Patmore, Henry Hocking and Matt Pearson all taking 21+ wickets, while Tom Bell and Maxwell Hill both finished on 16.

👏 A huge well done to all of the bowlers who turned out for our three senior sides this season. Great work!

🏏 RUN MACHINES! 🏏

As the 2026 Cornwall Cricket League season comes to a close, it’s time to shine a light on our Top 10 run scorers across all three St Erme CC teams in the league this year! 👏

A fantastic mix of youth and experience features in the list, with some brilliant individual performances throughout the season.

🥇 Kyle Van Rooyen — 639 runs
🥈 Jack Evans — 561 runs
🥉 Daniel Foulds — 517 runs

And a special mention for young Benjamin Musgrove, who has enjoyed a real breakout season in the 3rd XI. 💪

Ben has consistently impressed with the bat, scoring 433 runs and hitting his first ever century along the way! 💯👏

There was also a huge individual innings to remember from Ned Tinkler, who produced the biggest single score of the season with a brilliant 186! 🔥💯

From club captain to emerging young talent, it’s fantastic to see players from across the club contributing with the bat and making their mark during 2026.

Well done to all our players who have represented the club throughout the season. 🏏

Our Youth Awards Presentation afternoon takes place on Saturday 26th September from 3-6pm at St Erme Community Centre.

We'll be celebrating the achievements of all of our young cricketers, enjoying some pig racing and indoor games. There will be a free buffet as well.

We really need to know numbers, so if you can respond to the invitation on SPOND please, to let us know either way if you can come or not, that would be hugely helpful.

Our St Erme Ballers team made the semi-finals of St Austell CC's 6-a-side 5 over hardball tournament on Sunday.

Great fun and helping 6 youngsters including our former youth player, Nolan, to raise funds for their forthcoming under 15s tour with Cornwall to Sri Lanka.

🏆 TIER 2 COUNTY FINAL CHAMPIONS 2026 🏆

WHAT. A. DAY 👏🏏

St Erme 1st XI are the 2026 Cornwall Cricket League Tier 2 champions after a fantastic victory over Wadebridge 2nd XI at Lanhydrock today.

After winning the toss and electing to bat, we were bowled out for 135, with Callum Edgcombe the only player to really get going scoring a superb 54, including four sixes. It looked a modest total to defend but what followed was a brilliant bowling and fielding display.

In reply Wadebridge were dismissed for just 114, giving us a hard-fought 21-run victory and the trophy. 🏆

There were outstanding performances throughout, with Kyle Van Rooyen taking 3 wickets and Henry Hocking producing a sensational 5fer for the cost of just 25 runs, including two maidens, to see our opponents off in 30.2 overs.

What a way to cap off the season.

After topping Division 2 West and securing promotion back to County 1, today's victory was the icing on the cake for captain Sean Hooper and his side to what has been an outstanding year. Well done to each and every player who has played their part in making it happen.

Congratulations to Wadebridge Cricket Club 2nd XI on their equally successful season and promotion. We look forward to welcoming you to Castle Field in 2027.
