Little introduction for those who followed and don’t know me 😁My names Oscar, I’ve been on my own fitness journey for coming up to 4 years now and have been a listen Ed level 2/3 personal trainer as well as a nutrition coach for over a year now, which allows me to help you take full control of your fitness journey. Here we have another exercise showcase, this time being the hanging leg raises which for me is one of my staple exercises I try to incorporate in some capacity every week due to the great benefits I find it gives you in developing your entire abdominal area and core stability via the many variations you can do of the exercise. Developing your core is key if you want to lift safely and effectively in any lift but especially in the compounds lifts which is why I utilise them so often in my workout blocks. If you want to achieve the results in the gym you have set out to do you need to go into it with focus and dedication, otherwise you will find yourself falling short more often than not. Healthy, consistent progress in the gym is going to come from healthy and consistent and mindful preparation and sometimes to do exercises that may not be your favourite. However it is understanding that that will help push you that final step toward your goals! Back at it again with Carrick showing us another staple exercise we do together while training; the overhead press, another great compound exercise for building up that foundational stability in the core as well as strengthening his shoulders and upper back as it’s gonna be working overtime trying to stave off the fatigue as we get into higher rep ranges. Here we have one of my clients carrick demonstrating a barbell back squat using the high bar position which means to more place it on his traps rather than below, allowing for a more upright position during the squat, as well as allowing him to get deeper more comfortably and work his squads, hamstrings and glutes equally as well as improving his core stability and strength from the foundations up!
Some amazing progress has been made in the form department since we have been training together, learning that tripod formation of the feet stopping him from rolling too far onto his heels or toes, as well as driving that triangle in his back upwards and keeping that chest up in order to not turn it into a good morning! The Kettlebell Swing. A great exercise for developing your glutes, quads, hamstrings as well as building up your core stability; as well as grip strength when you move towards some of the bigger weights, it’s an incredible tool for all styles of workout or goals whether you’re trying to build muscle, strength or working on your speed and power. Here I am using a 25kg one at the end of my deadlift session as a way to really help build up my explosive strength as well as my lower back stability under fatigue, allowing me to lift safely and with correct form To book in a PT session with me, please DM me or follow the link in my bio and let’s reach those goals!💪🏻
