As soon as this snow melts, another little fella will be back on the road. General service and removed two damaged chain rings to give a cost-effective repair and a simplified 1x ride. A couple of necessary sessions on the turbo this week at home, but the sun's out today, forecast 9 degrees after the weekend so let's get ready to ride ...

This week has mostly been about bearings. Replace bearings and service a road wheel that is worth more than the bike with the replacement bottom bracket and drivetrain ! This is all pre-planned maintenance during bad weather to make sure the owners can ride when they want to, so get your bike checked so it is ready to go. Last night it was still light at 16:40, bulbs are coming up, vaccinations at 10,000,000 and it will soon be Spring.

The last few weeks has been full of preparing bikes for Christmas. This is a good thing as it means more healthy kids 👍
Bikes do take a real beating at this time of year and you do need to clean the drivetrain and braking surfaces (at least) after every ride or you will be faced with premature expense.

It's been the best summer since 1973 and August has been full of April showers. Bike sales are through the roof and the suppliers are running out of spares. Some (lucky) customers are now starting to get winter bikes ready and thinking about putting their best bikes to bed for a while. Servicing costs start at £35.00 for the basic safety checks and remember to get in early before the bike industry runs out of spares altogether !! Martin is on the ball and his is ready .....

It's been a Southern California sort of weekend here, with two old Marin bikes in for some love. Marin County is where mountain biking was born (probably about the same time we invented it in Yorkshire too) and so its nice to see plenty of miles left in these two ... Marin Muirwoods all serviced with a period-correct re-cycled rear wheel and a women's Kenfield that was bought over there by our customer when they were living abroad - service, new gear cables and bike setup all ready for client's holiday in Cornwall. Look after your bikes and they will last forever !

More people back on the road today with a student bike fixed and serviced, plus a very satisfying repair job on a bike that was intercepted by it's current owner on it's way to the tip ! This one has scrubbed up rather well.
