The irony isn’t lost on me.

A few days ago I was talking about slowing down after my Yin Yoga training.

I got home at 01:00, went back to work at 08:00, and then completely crashed.

The reality is that I’m still recovering from surgery and, although I might look okay on the outside, that’s not always how it feels on the inside.

I’ve ended up cancelling most of my work today, which I hate doing because I genuinely love teaching and don’t like letting people down.

But I’m finally having to accept that I can’t keep pushing through and expecting my body to keep up.

So today I’m unpacking, sleeping, fussing Gorba and trying to practise some of the things I’ve been talking about recently.

Definitely still a work in progress.

As I sit at Málaga Airport waiting to come home, I’m reflecting on what a really special two weeks it’s been.

I came here to learn more about teaching Yin Yoga, but I’ve also learnt a lot about myself.

It’s made me realise just how busy I’ve been over the last few years, and how easy it is to forget the importance of slowing down and listening.

I’m heading home feeling grateful, inspired and with lots to reflect on.

I’m also looking forward to bringing some of that learning back into my classes and sharing more of the journey with you over the coming weeks. 💜

Join me on Saturday 21 June, 10am–12pm at Whitton Community Centre for my next Reformer on the Mat Workshop.

This isn’t about getting through a series of exercises. It’s about becoming more aware of how your body moves, where it compensates, and what it might be asking for.

Even if you’ve attended before, this won’t be a repeat. I teach intuitively, responding to the people in the room and what I see on the day, so every workshop develops in its own way.

You’ll leave with a better understanding of your movement patterns, your strengths, your imbalances and, most importantly, practical ways to work with your body rather than against it.

The insights from these workshops often stay with people long after the session has finished.

I’ve been quiet for a reason.

Over the last year, my social media has become very quiet and very work-focused — and honestly, that’s simply been survival mode.

Behind the scenes, I’ve been going through breast cancer treatment and recovery.

On Monday I had my full follow-up hospital appointment and I’m doing really well. I also have my first annual mammogram coming up in a couple of weeks, which feels like a huge milestone.

I haven’t shared much personally during this time because most of my energy has gone into getting through work, keeping classes running, and focusing on healing. And if I’m honest, I slightly disappeared into myself for a while.

But I also know so many people are quietly living with things others cannot see — chronic illness, ADHD, anxiety, burnout, grief, recovery, stress, survival mode.

Sometimes we cope by just keeping going.

Over the coming weeks I’d like to start showing up more honestly — not perfectly, not polished, just more openly. Because movement and Pilates have carried me through some very dark moments, and perhaps sharing that journey might help someone else feel a little less alone.

Thank you to everyone who has kept coming to classes, workshops and retreats while I’ve been quieter than usual. It means more than you know 💜
