🍀 What a night to remember! 🍀

Our members truly brought the spirit of Ireland to life at our recent St Patrick’s Day celebration — with incredible energy, laughter, and plenty of dancing!

A huge highlight of the evening was the authentic Irish band we flew in all the way from Belfast, filling the room with traditional tunes that had everyone on their feet. From lively jigs to classic Irish favourites, the atmosphere was electric!

Thank you to all our members who joined us and made the night so special. Sláinte to great music, great company, and unforgettable memories!

Wow! What a way to mark the start of spring and our 125th anniversary year. Today, we welcomed the Mayor of Richmond to the club!

He will be returning soon to play in our charity golf match on 30th April (more information to follow).

A message regarding Mother Nature!

Strawberry hill golf course is often described as a little gem. As well as Golfers, it includes a plethora of creatures that thrive in the rich diversity of this green space.

The mown areas allow birds to feed on worms and bugs such as butterflies and wasps, use woodpiles as a place to hide and to hibernate through the colder months. Newts, frogs and toads shelter between logs, as do a number of minibeasts.

In addition, we have some dead trees still standing and the value of dead wood cannot be overestimated as so many creatures thrive in dead wood. Dead wood and the subsequent downed logs provide habitat for many living organisms, including fungi, mosses, lichens, invertebrates, birds, mammals, reptiles, and amphibians. The decayed surface provides a growth basis for fungus, moss, and lichen and provide the perfect place for beetles to thrive.
