🔨 MAKING RESOLUTE – PART 2 🔨

Part 1 was all about stripping it back, cleaning and discovering just how many jobs we’d actually taken on…

Part 2 is where things FINALLY started taking shape! 💙🖤

More painting (because apparently we hadn’t done enough already 😣😂), building the new dividing wall, cutting, measuring, fitting, painting panels, working on the ring area and slowly watching our ideas actually start to look like the vision we’d had in our heads.

There were still plenty of changes of plan, things going wrong, jobs taking about 10x longer than expected 🫣

But seeing that huge empty industrial unit slowly start to look like Resolute Martial Arts made all those ridiculously long days worth it. 🥋💙

And, as always, a massive thank you to everyone who has given up their time to come down and help us. We genuinely couldn’t have done all of this without you! 🫶

💙 BIG NEWS! RESOLUTE MARTIAL ARTS IS MOVING! 💙

We are SO excited to finally announce that Resolute Martial Arts is moving to a brand-new, bigger home! 🎉

📍 Bellbrook Industrial Estate, Uckfield
📅 Opening October 2026

Our new home means more space, more equipment and more opportunities for our amazing Resolute family. 🥊🥋

This is a huge step for us and we’re so grateful to everyone who has supported Resolute and helped us grow.

☀️ 🌭 RESOLUTE SUMMER PARTY – THIS WEEKEND! 🎉

Just a reminder that our annual Resolute Summer Party is taking place Sunday (26th July), 12pm–3pm at Rocks Park Scout Hut, Uckfield.

🎈 FREE for all Resolute members and their families – siblings are all welcome too!

We’ve got loads planned, including:
🏰 Bouncy castles
💪 Assault course
🎯 Garden games and activities

So why not bring a picnic, relax, and enjoy an afternoon of family fun while bringing the Resolute community together! 💙

🍔 J.F. Bishop Butchers will be there serving their delicious BBQ menu, and 🍦 Cookes Ice Cream will also be joining us with their ice cream van!

🎁 We will also be doing a raffle with some great prizes!

We can’t wait to see you all there for what is always one of our favourite events of the year! 😄🥋

As always, members are welcome to attend any suitable class, even if it’s not the one you usually come to. It’s a great chance to try something different, keep active over the holidays, and continue your training.

🌟 Celebrating Bobby’s Work Experience at Resolute Martial Arts! 🌟

Over the past week, we’ve had the pleasure of having Bobby complete his work experience with us, and what a fantastic week it’s been!

From helping organise stock and supporting our younger students in classes, to assisting with Sports Week at a local primary school, attending instructor meetings and even leading parts of our adult sessions. Bobby threw himself into every opportunity with enthusiasm and professionalism.

What has impressed us most is the way Bobby naturally connects with our younger students. He has been patient, encouraging, and always willing to lend a helping hand, making him a brilliant role model both on and off the mats.

Outside of his placement, Bobby also represented Resolute as part of our demonstration team and stepped into the ring to compete, showing the same dedication and commitment that we’ve seen throughout the week.

We are incredibly proud of everything Bobby has achieved. His confidence has grown, his coaching skills have developed, and he’s become a valued member of our team. We have no doubt he has a bright future ahead of him, whatever path he chooses.

Thank you for all your hard work this week, Bobby. Everyone at Resolute Martial Arts is proud of you, and we look forward to seeing what you achieve next! 🥋👊💙

🥋 A Huge Congratulations to Our New Black Belts! 🥋

Last weekend was a very special day for Resolute Martial Arts as Arthur and William successfully earned their Black Belts an incredible achievement that represents years of dedication, perseverance and hard work.

I’ve been teaching Arthur since he was just 7 years old, watching him grow from a young beginner into the martial artist he is today. William joined Resolute around 5 years ago after moving over from another club, and it has been a privilege to see him develop and push himself every single week.

One of the things that makes this even more special is the friendship they have built. They met through Resolute all those years ago, have trained side by side, supported each other through every challenge, and this weekend they achieved one of karate’s biggest milestones together.

Their Black Belt grading began at 9:30am and didn’t finish until 1:30pm, with four hours of continuous testing. They were examined on their Japanese terminology, demonstrating techniques from the commands given in Japanese, kihon (fundamental techniques), creating and performing their own combinations, 12 kata, weapon kata, 8 self-defence scenarios, pair work, board breaking, and finally a demanding stamina test to finish.

A Black Belt isn’t about being perfect, it’s about showing commitment, resilience and the determination to never give up. Both Arthur and William demonstrated those qualities from start to finish.

Congratulations, Arthur and William. Thank you for your hard work, commitment and for being fantastic role models to the younger students.

We can’t wait to see what comes next. 🥋💙

🥊 Battle of Kent Competition 🥊

At the weekend we travelled to Whitstable with three of our fighters Bobby, Beau and Elliot to compete at the Battle of Kent. All three faced tough opponents, but every one of them showed incredible courage, determination and represented Resolute Martial Arts with pride.

🥊 Bobby was up first. He made great use of his kicks throughout the fight and looked sharp, but just needed to let his hands go a little more to edge the contest in his favour.

🥊 Elliot had a brilliant bout against an opponent he had previously faced when they were younger. Both boys put on an exciting display of skill and sportsmanship, and the fight was judged a well-deserved draw.

🥊 Beau stepped into the ring for his very first fight against a much more experienced opponent. Despite the challenge, he showed fantastic bravery, landed some great shots, and handled the occasion brilliantly in front of a packed crowd. It was a performance he should be incredibly proud of and a fantastic foundation for the future.

Win, lose or draw, competition is about learning, growing and gaining experience. Every time these young fighters step through the ropes, they become stronger martial artists.

A huge well done to Bobby, Beau and Elliot. You all did yourselves, your families and Resolute Martial Arts proud. The future is looking bright! 💙🥋🥊

🚨 URGENT CLUB NOTICE: TEMPORARY CLOSURE 🚨

Due to the Met Office issuing a Extreme Heat Warning and local schools closing early, Resolute Martial Arts will be fully closed on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday this week.

The safety and wellbeing of our students, families, and coaches is always our top priority, and we feel this is the safest decision given the forecast conditions.

🥋 Additional Catch-Up Session
To help make up for the missed classes, we will be running an additional session on:

📅 Friday
⏰ 5:00pm – 6:00pm
📍 Uckfield College

This session will be open to both Karate and Kickboxing students, and we will be covering all grading syllabus work and techniques.

💷 Cost: £8 per person

✅ FREE for:

* Students who pay by standing order
* Students who attend schools affected by the closures this week
