"When you are grateful, fear disappears, and abundance appears". Tony Robbins
Gratitude is the quality of being thankful. It is a feeling of joy in response to receiving a gift whether the gift is deserved or not, whether it is a specific object or a gesture of kindness.
It is a moment when we are at one in the presence of natural beauty or in the silence of our soul.
It is also a moment when the gifts of the world together with its abundance and challenges can be seen and appreciated in whatever form they come in.
Gratitude can be a conscious choice to focus on the blessings life brings rather than on its shortcomings.
It is a universal human experience that can be a random occurrence of grace or an attitude chosen to create a better life.
The more grateful we are, the more reasons we have to be grateful. We then allow blessings to flow from the Divine, the source from which all good comes.
Practicing gratitude can alleviate distress, enhance positive well-being.
It is effective in reducing anger and serves as a buffer for those at risk for depression.
Practicing gratitude on a daily basis for the abundance that is present - love, health, family, work, friends, the joys of nature, and personal pursuits helps us foster moral growth and a positive outlook on life.
One of the ways to cultivate gratitude in your life is through journaling.
Setting a time to sit quietly and write in your notebook all those things you are grateful for eg. family, friends, love, opportunities, insights, challenges.
List 5-10 things in your life that you are grateful for and the reasons why, assess your feelings and understanding.
Recognising the things that you are grateful for in your life can change the way you perceive the world. What we pay attention to becomes our experience.
