It is with great sadness that we have been informed that Peter Brooks, captain of the touchers team, has passed away. Our thoughts are with his family and friends at this sad time. We will be conducting a moments silence for him and Ray Forrest, as well as others who has passed away over the past year. This will be held on 7th January before bowling commences.

We would like to wish all our players and their families a Merry Christmas and we hope you have a great 2026. See you soon!!!

The final session of the 2024/2025 season of short mat bowls at Victoria Hall is tonight. It is the finals of the pairs.

The short mat league runs from September through till the end of March each year.

New teams and players are welcome to join us for the next season.

We play many different competitions:
1) League (you play all teams twice, subject to amount of teams).
2) Open Pairs tournament
3) Open Singles tournament
4) Open Triples tournament
5) Team Knockout cup (a handicapped competition to allow a fair shot at teams winning something)
6) Team Pairs

We payout over £700 each season for prize money and names on a trophy. Cash prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place positions.

Also the merit prize (best player of the season)

The League has been running since the early 1980s played in Radcliffe but due to unsuitable building arrangements we moved to the Victoria Halls in Bolton back in 2022. We have 4 mats out each match day.
