And that's a wrap for the IMC 2025 Race season!!🏁

Sunday past saw the Season Finale of the Irish Minibike Championship take place at Nutts Corner Circuit , and what a year it has been.
Didn't get as high up the standings as hoped, but there is always more progression to be had for next year.

As normal, Joe was out in the open class on board his CRF150r....Practice and qualifying went okay. As the weather wasnt particularly warm, Joe decided to keep the r tyes on the bike for Race 1. Unfortunately this proved to be a mistake and they got too hot about 3 laps in, resulting in a big side ways moment. At this point Joe had to back off and just finished the race.
A change of tyres for Race 2, but the incident from the first race, meant Joe was a still a little cautious. With cold ss tyres on the first lap, too much ground was lost to the front runners. But JQ continued to persevere and had pretty steady race from to finish.
For Race 3, and with warm tyres this time... (big thanks to Jordan Greer who lent Joe his tyre warmers) JQ pushed and gave it his all...but by the last lap, he had to back off. Trying to keep up with the pack in front, Joe was breaking as late as possible and ended up taking a bit of arm pump. All in all, still an enjoyable days racing and a pretty consistent year.

Joe has been in talks with a fellow local imc competitor yesterday evening...and it's looking like he is going to have to pull out this CRF and dust down the cobwebs as it hasn't been raced since the Snowflake round last season. And hopefully we could see a two man team for the final round of irishminibikes championship 🏍🏁

Bit late on the race report for Round 6/7, but better late than never as they say 🙈

Due to circumstances beyond the clubs control, oil on the circuit and bad weather (constant rain), it was decided that any racing would be held as non championship. With worsing racing conditions and many choosing not to go out, Joe only got one race on Saturday.

Sunday saw better weather, and due to Saturdays washout, the club decided to squeeze in an extra race on Sunday. Race one, JQ was having a good battle for position, unfortunately then he had a low side crash. He managed to get back on and make it over the finish line. After this crash and a broken brake lever as a result... we were apprehensive that Sundays racing was now going to be over for the day too. Luckily, and a massive thanks to Mark for the replacement lever... the bike was repaired and Joe was set to continue for the next three races, where he battled for position with some decent finishes.

Qual : Best Lap: 1.05.876 : 6th
Race 1: Best Lap: 1.03.856 : 8th
Race 2: Best Lap: 1.03.182 : 5th
Race 3: Best Lap: 1.04.444 : 5th
Race 4: Best Lap: 1.04.325 : 5th

Not exactly the weekend we had hoped for, but we move forward with more determination for the next round.

The weekend past saw Joe head to Adventure Park at Kartworld Cork for RD4 and RD5 of the Irish Minibike Championship...and what a fantastic weekend it was 👌🏼.

Unfortunately, we didn't get a race report done for RD3 at Athboy as we have been working hard prepping the bike for Watergrasshill and trying to find the cause of the mysterious issue the crf has developed. Changes were made and it was a step in the right direction, although still not completely ironed out... will keep working at it for the next 2 rounds at Nuttscorner.

With that said, JQ came home happy... not exactly the results we hoped for but there are still positives to be taken. Joe continued to push and work hard bringing his times down with each race, resulting in him setting his PB lap times on Saturday. So all in all...a great weekend 😬
