Everyone at Flixton Juniors is delighted at the news that Dan Holmes, our Football Development Lead for 7-11 Boys, has been shortlisted for 25/26 Coach of the Year: Male Pathway at Manchester FA's Grassroots Football Awards! 🥳🤩

Dan has been at the club since 2020 when he took up the coaching role for his son Max's U8 Cobras team. The lads are now U14s and secured the league and cup double last season. Not content with one team, when his younger son Zac joined the club he also began coaching his Rhinos team at U7s who are now in their third season at U9 and showing fantastic progress.

Around about the same time Dan helped to set up and run our Future Flixton Youths programme, giving boys and girls of all abilities who weren't part of a team the opportunity to train and develop in a team environment. These sessions have created six new teams at the club in 3 years, with a 7th team about to be created in the next few weeks.

Dan is also currently taking charge of our U13 Phoenix team, stepping in over the summer to stop them folding when they were left without a coach. He is a board member, helps to organise and run our football festival weekends and is always willing to lend a hand to help out wherever needed at the club. A fantastic servant to the club and hugely deserved recognition for all his hard work!

He has been shortlisted alongside two other nominees with the winner to be announced at the awards ceremony in November. Best of luck Dan and thank you for being a fantastic role model to our young players and a great example to everyone at the club. 🙌🏻

As part of our recent drive to increase engagement and communication at the club our first 'Friends of Flixton Juniors' meet up is happening this Sunday (4th October).

A lot of schools etc run these types of groups very successfully so we are looking for anyone willing to lend a helping hand at the club to join.

There's no commitment to attend every month but we will look to meet for a couple of hours on a Saturday or Sunday morning to carry out minor maintenance jobs around our various home venues at Wellacre, Acre Hall, Egerton & Kingsway.

You may have a particular skillset that you think might be useful at some point, you may just want to meet up for a chat and a brew while helping out. However you can help large or small will be greatly appreciated.

To join and keep yourself informed of how you can help out, you can add yourself the open WhatsApp group on our community if you are already connected to the club through your child's team group, or you can send an email to the address on the flyer and we will add you.

Many thanks in advance,

The Board.

A huge thank you to all our runners young and old that came to our 🌈 Colour Run 🌈 this morning!
Together we raised over £400 for the club with a fantastic morning of fun and it was a great turnout for our first one despite the rain! Hopefully we will be back bigger and better next year! 🤞🏼
Hope everyone got home in relatively clean cars and managed to get all the paint out. 🤣
Let's see your pictures in the comments below! 🤩

There's a few limited places on our 🌈 Colour Run 🌈 at Wellacre on Monday 31st (10am) still available... a big thank you to everyone that has signed up so far!
Below is the rough plan for the route, there will be obstacle stations set up around the course with paint throwers bringing the colour in between. 🤾🏻‍♂️
Entrants are welcome to do as many laps as they wish within the hour, just stay out of the sand pit once you're covered in paint please!
Any non runners that would like to help with chucking paint at your kids will be welcomed with open arms and a free drink/snack at the refreshment stand. 🙌🏻
Let's hope the weather isn't too harsh on us... but a bit of rain never hurt anyone!
Looking forward to a great morning of fun, music & colour! Remember white or light coloured clothing and eye protection (sunglasses/goggles) for the runners!

📸 Another four girls receiving their shirts for completing 12 Future Flixton Lionesses sessions with us recently: Jaime, Elizabeth, Mia & Lydia. 🤩

Our girls soccer school has now been running for just over a year and in that time we've grown from a group of 3 girls to 16, we've created two new teams at the club from FFL graduates, we've invested in new equipment for the girls, and improved the facilities at Acre Hall with equipment storage, a toilet facility and a refreshments cabin.

A big thanks to all involved for your support and we're looking forward to another great year of girls football development at Flixton Juniors! 🤩❤️🖤⚽

Our girls sessions are for 4-7 year olds on a Saturday morning, 9-10am at Acre Hall Primary. Contact Joe on 07773163552 to get involved! 🤩
