Are you just starting your weight loss journey or wondering why you aren't quite seeing results you want to see?

These are my 5 golden rules that will help YOU get the results you want.

Give this a read and save!

Set a goal.

1️⃣ Set yourself a goal and and be realistic with it. Aim for a weight loss of 1-2kg a month.

2️⃣ Adopt the 80/20 approach.

Don't think all or nothing as it just doesn't work. Enjoy your meals and have a better mentality of having a 80% nutrition diet with 20% something that you really enjoy each day.

3️⃣ Plan, plan, plan.

Planning your meals enables you to be mindful of what food you're consuming and stay within your calorie deficit. Same with training, literally plan it into your diary and stick to it.

4️⃣ Think beyond the scales

Don't just measure your progress by scale weight, you can monitor progress with photos, measurements and don't forget to factor in how you're actually feeling.

5️⃣ Get moving!

Don't underestimate exercise. Exercise will help create a calorie deficit which is required for weight loss.

Have a look over your day to day lifestyle and think if you can improve any of these to help you get the results you want to get.

Another fabulous result coming in from Lauren 👏🏻

Lauren started out online coaching to get back into the swing of training and take classes took of her eating habits.

With a busy schedule and being a nurse, we had a big focus on planning her week and being realistic on what she could achieve training wise and be prepped for food on shifts.

Planning her food allowed her to track and maintain a calorie deficit when she was on days and night shifts without sacrificing foods she enjoyed.

Keeping a big focus on her energy and fullness , we ensured she focused on her protein and kept her calories high enough that she would feel better on night shifts.

Creating a great shape, we focused on;

✨4 resistance based training days a week and pushing for strength

✨ Creating a better sleep pattern

✨ Keeping above 70k steps a week

And to make sure she felt more confident and she done this 👏🏻👏🏻

Congratulations Lauren, you smashed it 👏🏻

My next intake for online coaching starts Monday 2nd May.

Why are all these factors important? They all play a huge role with weight loss, so if you feel you aren't making much progress, look over all of these habits and ask if there is any way you can improve...you might be so close but just have one missing link.

1️⃣ A calorie deficit. If you are in one and not losing weight...the answer is you're not in one. To lose weight, you need to eat and drink fewer calories than you burn. If you take in more than you burn, you do not have a calorie deficit.

2️⃣ Steps- the rule of thumb is 10,000 a day but this isn't for everyone. To start, just increase what you have been doing. It is a low impact method to help burn calories but also have so many other factors to them. Walking improves cardiovascular fitness, supports mental health and makes you get away from sitting all day especially if this is your job.

3️⃣ Water is vital for bodily functions, helps flush toxins away, transports nutrients and aids the digestive system. Hydration is key for muscle function too!

4️⃣ Do you lift weights? Ladies who have heard it doesn't burn as much as cardio...you're right. However, lifting weights increases your muscle mass whilst burning fat. If your scale weight doesn't differ too much, your body composition will, and that is crucial. Having more muscle mass and less body fat means your body BMR will increase, this means you will be burning MORE calories while at rest, helping you long term. Ladies, you will not become bulky!

5️⃣ Stress and sleep play a massive role with weight loss. Feeling stressed can make it difficult to fall asleep and stay asleep. It can also affect the quality of the sleep you do get, leading you to feel sluggish and fatigued. These disruptions can affect your metabolism. Your eating habits may then have an impact. Stress then leads to missed meals or poor food choices.

Understanding why all these habits play a role with fat loss is key to get you results, so look at your day to day lifestyle and understand if you are lacking any of these points. It's never too late to change.

One of the biggest struggles people have when trying to diet is they cant see progression, and often focus on one thing, and that is seeing the scale weight drop.

Tons of females have the same issue and it's ultimately stopping them from sticking with their weight loss goal.

So what do we do instead?

Progression isn't and shouldn't be solely reliant on a scale weight. Scales are a great way to measure progress but there are so many factors that can cause them to fluctuate.

Every week I will reflect with my clients on how they feel as well as how they look. How they feel is just or more important than a scale loss.

In my online client Sophie's case, she really found value in a weekly review on what she has achieved and how each point is a progression from the week before.

With a busy work schedule and being a mum, she often found it hard to find time for herself and couldn't see how she was making progress each week.

She started off with finding no time for herself and jumped straight into work mode the minute she got up, had no plan or structure when she could head to the gym and felt sluggish for not moving from her desk all day.

This is a 4 weeks difference and massive results.

Her progress is huge.

Understanding that this is all progress and all habits are leading her in the right direction to her goal is massive.

Not only has she noticed her clothes feeling looser, she is getting stronger in the gym and feels proud of herself.

Progress can be;

✅Making better food choices

✅Having a better sleep routine

✅Drinking more water and less fizzy juice

✅ Getting to the gym and follow a plan

✅ Exercising more than last week

✅ Better mood

✅ Taking 30 minutes for self care.

The list goes on!

If this is something you're struggling with and it's stopping you from hitting your goal, message me today saying ' Progress' and I will help you make a change in your mindset.

Why is it when you have to change the bed sheets you put it off all day as you think it's going to take 4 hours to do, but really it takes 10 minutes? 🤣😫

How many times have we all done this and then said 'Why did I dread this all day long?!'

This is like SO many little tasks each day but really they aren't that bad.

What is the one thing you put off doing each day?

What do you find hard and always a chore?

When a new client starts out, I can normally guess 90% of the time, it's going to be logging their food, completing steps, or planning food.

This is normal.

It's something they aren't used to doing and think it's going to eat up 5 hours of the day.

If you can spend 15 minutes a day on your weakest point, you will only get better. Next thing you know, it becomes a habit and you don’t even realise you're doing it.

This is when it feels good.

So, today's task if you are struggling with doing that one task you put off, is ask yourself why you do it and what will be the outcome if you give yourself 15 minutes today to work on it.

If you are trying to get results but keep getting lost with motivation, just review your day first before thinking it’s too hard and want to give up.

Give it a try today, tomorrow and the rest of the week.

✨ 2021 ✨

What a year.

For someone who loves to have my life planned out, there was nothing planned out for this year, however it was something that we made be great 💪🏻💫

Starting out with snowy walks in the Pentlands, buying our first house without actually seeing it until we had the keys (nothing like winging life), to heading back to the gyms with making changes for myself to feel fit again after what felt like 40 lockdowns.

Finishing the year with a holiday and wedding celebration with our friends has been the best feeling to what feels like normality.

For a year I felt I never achieved huge things…I think we done not too bad 😅💕

Thank you to everyone who has worked with me or I have met this year, everyone passes in to make positive changes.

Now…let’s bring on 2022!! THIS year is gonna be fabulous 💫

Happy new year to you 🍾🎊

My clients all have something in common.

The want to start and the want to change.

They have all had to deal with things that get in the way of making progress some weeks and this is part of life.

Some weeks and great and some not so.

Each time we come across a barrier we can sit and plan how we are going to pass it. This can be to work, life stress, uni, lockdowns (hopefully no more) and social events.

These ALL happen to each of us.

Having a team environment can always help when you feel alone. Having someone you can talk to behind the scenes and to share that you aren’t alone…and most of us go through tough times.

Sharing each other’s experiences with always be able to help someone else along there weight loss process.

These ladies are all just great examples of being able to overcome obstacles along the way and being able to deal with them 🙌🏻

Every single client I help deals with something’s so having a coach and an environment you can get help with is what I love about my job ☺️

If you feel you lack support, never be scared to ask for help.

Have a great weekend everyone!

THIS is how happy I am today 😃💪🏻

I know it’s Monday and you are probably thinking how is this possible.

Last week I had the craziest and busiest week within my business in the last few months.

Getting to work with so many ladies who want to feel good about themselves, build confidence, learn on how they eat well and still reach their goals is something I love to do 💕

I have the greatest job working with my online coaching, small group coaching, 1-1 coaching and my new 8 week plan that has just launched 💫

Finished last week with a trip to Manchester to focus on how I am going to finishes this year and start next year with a bang 💥

Just because it’s coming into winter doesn’t mean you have to slow down on your goals, having the right support team and putting your mind to them you can still thrive 🙌🏻

This applies to you too. Nothing is stopping you from what you want to achieve. Stopped doubting yourself and you will reach your goal 😃

My team have been working super hard and I can’t wait to share all their results both physically and mentally 🔥

Have a great week everyone, and remember it’s never too late to get started 🚀

16 weeks of hard work has allowed Kirsty to drop 8kg ✅💪🏻

“I gained confidence in myself again, I feel so much more capable of comfortable in myself and just have a different mindset when it comes to eating and exercising”

Kirsty came onto the team wanting to learn how to eat properly and get back to a good routine with exercise.

We set her calories up to be in a deficit but with little change of these over time. Why?

We wanted to allow her to still enjoy herself with social events after lockdown and not feel over restricted.

With a routine Kirsty used her days wisely, getting up and using her mornings and prioritising her fitness and goals.

Not only does she look amazing, she feels great too! 💕

Kirsty has managed these results over the summer with staying consistent, juggling life and wanting to reach her goal.

She deserve this and she has smashed her target 🙌🏻

Massive well done Kirsty ✨
