The Slingbacks - Rosslyn Park Ladies Women's Rugby

Famed as the biggest group of ruck stars in South West London rugby, the Slingbacks are Rosslyn Park’s inclusive, LGBTQ+ friendly women’s team that welcomes, cherishes and nurtures both seasoned rugby pros and complete beginners alike. Founded in 1997, we are blessed to boast some of the best facilities in the women’s game, including a floodlit 4G pitch, a CrossFit gym and a newly-renovated changing room complex. We tape up and scrum down each Sunday in the fourth tier of women’s rugby, NC South East West 1 (with a name that long it must be good), steered by our dedicated coaches. Off the pitch, we offer a banging calendar of monthly socials and annual tours, ensuring that even if you leave the field with a few scrapes, you can hit the clubhouse afterwards and make some memories with a bevy of life-long pals. Come down and join us at Rosslyn Park every Wednesday, 7-9pm for training – the only person missing from our pack is you!

Organise your own flights and we are hoping to cover all transfers, tours, accommodation and a couple of celebration dinners from Kay’s legacy.

We are looking for a chilled experience with some non compulsory organised activities and maybe a game of touch/walking rugby.

During the week we wish to hold a gala evening to celebrate Kay’s life and raise a few “Ma Baileys”.

Register your interest and we will look to move comms to a central point.

Goodbye from the Slingbacks.

During the pandemic, like many clubs, the Slingbacks went on hiatus with current and former players lined up to support a restart ahead of their 25th season.

Whilst awaiting engagement on the relaunch, we saw it being advertised online 8 weeks ago. We wrote the following letter to our club leadership and have waited 6 weeks for a response that fails to address the question - why aren’t Rosslyn Park’s women involved in its own relaunch?
