Today we got our new OC6 out on the water, alongside out V1 and OC1s, with an introduction to outrigger paddling and plenty of teamwork along the way - from learning how to safely rig and tie the ama together, to getting everyone out on the water and working as one crew.

It was a brilliant team-bonding session and a great reminder that there’s always something new to learn and try at Typhoon.

And this is for everyone. Whether you’re completely new to paddling, an experienced dragon boat racer, or simply looking to try something different, our outrigger sessions are open to all abilities and experience levels.

Come down, have a go, learn something new and be part of the crew. 🛶🔥

Open Day 22nd of August. Ever wanted to try one of the fastest-growing water sports? Whether you’re looking to get fitter, meet new people, or just try something different, Come and experience dragon boat racing with us. No previous experience needed. All abilities welcome. Please note this open day is for ages 18 plus only. We know there are younger folks keen to try it too, so we’ll be hosting an under 18s open day in the future. Friday 22nd August. London BDA - completed it, mate!

What a memorable day it was for our crew.

From entering the most categories we’ve competed in for nearly a decade - 2 Ladies, 1 Men’s, 1 Mixed & 1 Open - to some seriously neck-and-neck racing, and of course having the privilege of hosting some of the great teams from across the country.

And we came away with a Silver in the 200m Mixed! 🥈

It was a brilliant, tough and incredibly competitive day of racing. We may not have walked away with every trophy, but we certainly walk away with something just as valuable - priceless experiences, memories and a stronger crew.

A massive thank you as well to all the clubs and teams who helped us with loading and unloading the boats. That’s what dragon boating is all about - teamwork, on and off the water. 🙌

We hope you enjoyed the day as much as we did, and it was a pleasure having you all down in London.

Meet Noor Shah - confident, competitive, and absolutely in love with the global side of dragon boating.🌍

Noor thrives on the mix of intensity and connection that defines this sport. She loves the racing, the adrenaline, and the chance to meet athletes from all over the world. Her favourite moment? The 2k at Worlds last year, a race that left her with a rush of pride she’ll never forget.

Munich is her next chapter. She’s ready to chase medals, learn from other countries, and bring everything she’s gained from Typhoon DBC and the GB programme onto the European stage.
