As a women living with PMOS, and a practitioner working with women navigating it every day I’m so relieved see it properly addressed for its hormonal and metabolic impact!
It has been far too long that young women have been handed a pill and told to come back when they want children. That was my experience. and not only is this advice unhelpful (more on this to come!!), it’s also neglectful.
Women with PMOS are more prone to hormonal shifts, weight gain, skin issues and mental health challenges and there is so much that can be done to support us, (very importantly through strength training, nutritional support), but unless these women can find and afford specialist holistic intervention they have been left feeling confused and quite frankly unwell. Hopefully this new name and research can help the medical community to provide earlier intervention for the masses, better access to support, and care that treats the whole person!
So in my opinion this is a good step in the right direction for women’s health! 🙌🏻

This is a fun AI trend!
As a Nutritional Therapist specialising in fertility my aim to help identify opportunities to improve nutrient status and find harmony in my clients biochemistry that helps to improve their chances of conception, a healthy pregnancy and child.
We often use functional testing to establish where in the clients’ biochemistry could benefit from extra support and we build a roadmap to working together to achieve this balance and harmony.
What I love about nutritional therapy, especially in the fertility pace, is that as well as improving fertility clients also reap the rewards in other areas of their health and life 🥦 💕

These photos are taken a year apart and the biggest transformation here is without a doubt to my mental health.
Photo 1: I had just left a problematic relationship, I am a mum to a 1 year old and I had just stopped breastfeeding. I wasn’t sleeping well, I wasn’t very nice to myself.
I want to jump through the screen and give this version of me the biggest hug. Being a new mum is challenging & the expectation to just be your best self during this time is quite frankly b*****it in my opinion!
The biggest change between these two photos is by far my mental health - can you see it?? No dieting & no intensive workouts leaving me depleted, just a slow steady journey to liking myself again, making better choices for myself and following my own simple advice. Consistency to exercise moderately & nutritious health choices.
I disliked myself so much, that my underwear choice was literally bottom on my list of things care about.
In my coaching I help new mums to find self-compassion, focus on the best sleep they can manage through personalised advice. I encourage clients to focus on dedicating structured time in the week for self reflection and slowly find joy again. Making realistic, nutrient dense food choices, taking steps to manage energy through blood sugar support, correcting nutrient deficiencies…. Etc etc…
I am a single mum with no family nearby, I get it - I get how hard it is and I am here to guide my client’s throughout their journey with empathy and compassion.
I have space for women who are on a fertility journey, pregnant and post-partum, to focus on holistic health with a combination of coaching, nutrition and personal training sessions. So reach out on my website (link in bio) to book a consultation ahead of Jan if you think this approach is for you.
XOXO

If you have been told by your fertility clinic that after some tests and investigations everything looks healthy, this is the perfect opportunity to begin working with a fertility nutritionist.
We can investigate reasons for sub-infertility and give you a better chance at naturally conceiving during this period, whilst at the same time preparing you in the best way we can if you are to go down the IVF route in the future.
