Theatretrain provides Professional Training in the Performing Arts for young people aged 4 - 18

We run a main school for 6-18 year olds and a foundation class for 4-5 year olds called Theatretrain Minis.

Confidence isn’t always loud.

Sometimes it’s the child who puts their hand up for the first time. The young person who decides to speak a little more clearly. The student who gives something a go even though they’re nervous. 💙

Performing arts can give children a safe space to practise being brave, taking small risks and learning to trust themselves.

Those little moments can build into something much bigger over time. ✨

What They Learn On Stage Can Help Them At School

Learning lines. Remembering choreography. Listening for cues. Understanding a character. Concentrating during rehearsals.
There’s a lot going on when a child takes part in performing arts!
Acting, singing and dancing can encourage young people to develop focus, memory, communication and creative thinking — skills that can be useful far beyond the rehearsal room.
So, while they might think they’re simply preparing for their next performance, they could be developing skills that support them in the classroom too.

Every performer has an important part to play. 🎭

Whether they’re rehearsing a scene, learning a song or putting together a dance, children learn to listen, cooperate, support one another and work towards a shared goal.

The performance may last a few minutes — but the teamwork skills can stay with them for years. 🌟
