*Phoenix Ladies 6 - Worcester Community 1*
A tough game today with weather conditions to play in. We knew this would factor in and be an added challenge for us to contend with.
However, that said and with another week’s break/game off last week, we didn’t stop our momentum we’ve kept so far in the league. We were out the blocks and with added pressure and a strong attack from the off, within minutes we found the back of the net to take the lead. This set the game for us.
We were moving the ball round, linking up, driving forward and some impressive passages of play were on display along with phenomenal shots and follow-ups. Soon enough goals started being shared around and by halftime whistle we were 5-0 up deservingly.
Second half was a different story though, a rotation of players, the wind diverting the ball and we had become a little more scrappy, not as aggressive in the final third. We gained a goal again through persistence but we had chances to extend the lead even further as the game continued, unfortunately these shots fell short or Worcester’s keeper got to them/tipped over the bar. Credit to Worcester who had battled throughout the game and their heads never dropped. Along with an error and misjudgment at the back Worcester were finally awarded a goal from their efforts in the second half.
The game continued for the last 15 end to end, with both teams driving forward and battling hard. Although the score line, a very competitive game from both.

This player stands out each week for her continued effort and constant running on the pitch. There’s not a tackle she won’t win! It’s become quite the norm. However her vision today and positioning, she was a vital part of success today.
