We are back........

On Monday 21st September we had our session where new students showed up and gave it a try. We had loads of students show up both new students and returning students train.

There was a variety of different topics covered in the Taekwondo session allowing our students to see what taekwondo is all about.

We have another session on today and would like to welcome you all to come along and give it a go.

We are located in SportsDock SD1. 08/09 training from 7 - 9PM.

About last week........

Our club president travelled over to Albania to represent UEL Taekwondo and the University aswell as GB.

Despite all the challenges prior to the event she went out there and smashed IT. She fought hard having her first round against Croatia and secured a Win and narrowly missing out to Germany in the Round 16. She learnt loads from this competition and was able to earn Ranking points as it was a G1.

We are proud of Hannah Culver for representing UEL University one of the highest levels in the University circuit and can't wait to see what next year brings.

We would also like to say thank you to Master Kuzey from Aquila Taekwondo for being apart of the coaching team. He Supported Hannah on day 1 and was coaching athletes on day 2 & 3 helping them to secure medals in a G level competition.

Well done to you both.

Hannah is our Club President she will be in charge of the running of the club, supporting with competitions and more.

Come along to our first training session to meet Hannah and ask any questions or meet her at freshers fair where she will be around all day on the 21st September.

Challenge Cup......

Wednesday 15th April we had our annual varsity against ARU University.

Taekwondo was one of the 11 sports that participated to try and bring the trophy back home to UEL.

After 5 matches UEL Taekwondo won against ARU 3-2 which meant we brought a point to the scoreboard.

Overall UEL University won and brought the trophy back home this year.

Well done to everyone who took part you all performed amazingly and should all be so proud.

Competition Throwback.......

On March 28th & 29th we took a team of 7 athletes to compete in the final student BSTF competition of the year.

On day 1 (March 28th) we had 2 black belts competing. It was a mix of experience and first time competing and they both competed exceptionally well.

On day 2 (March 29th) we had 5 competitors competing. They was also very mixed of experience and new to competing and gave there absolute best and performed amazingly.

We are proud of every athlete who stepped onto the mats, it's not easy no matter where you are at in your journey. Each individual performed amazingly and showed how hard work and dedication brings results.

Exiting news…..

East London Taekwondo would like to welcome all students to come and join our self defence session taking place on Monday 13th April 2026 3:30 - 4:45PM.

The session costs £7 for a UEL student and £10 for external university students.

Thank you to everyone who attended our first Self defence Seminar of the year.

On Monday 16th February UEL Taekwondo hosted a self defence session open to the University and external Universitys aswell.

Everyone who took part learned some valuable self defence moves. It was sun and a great start to our series of these sessions we have planned.

Keep an eye out for the next one to be apart of the fun.

Exciting news………..

East London Taekwondo would like to welcome all students to come and join us at our self defence session taking place on Monday 16th February 2026. We will have 2 sessions so that we can accommodate more people. 1st session is 2:15 - 3pm & the 2nd is 3:30 - 4:45.

Each session is paid for in cash unless told otherwise with a price of £7 per student.
