After 6 long years of waiting SUWPC finally return in the face off of all face offs… Varsity. 13 brave young men and women will be swimming off at Jubilee tonight. Come along and show your support👑🥇🤽

It’s finally time to reveal the master tactician behind it all. Sir Alex wasn’t just born to coach - he was literally coaching internationally before conception. Pep Guardiola isn’t yet brave enough to claim he’s the Alex Wilmshurst of football, but maybe with 7 more champions leagues and a World Cup he’ll be brave enough to try.

A few decades after birth Alex became our President, qualified as a level 2 coach, and even coached the girls all the way to the premiership. He now coaches the city team (who I hear can actually play waterpolo 🥲), but at least he kindheartedly left the SUWPC ladies in safe hands (we are yet to win a match).

Nevertheless, HRH returns to coach our first Varsity in 6 years and we can expect a passionate, inspirational, and tactically genius coaching style with absolutely no cards or warnings from the ref whatsoever🧠🥶🤯

Anyone who’s ever visited the palace of dreams would be aware that Mr Popple’s hips have simply never told a lie. Neither have his stats - in preparation for Varsity he has bravely tripled his annual goal count, which must mean he’s at least 3 times as tall and 3 times as jacked as he was last year. We expect big things from our beloved lil number 11🤽💪🥹

Our lovely Fixtures sec has spent the year hiring pools and consuming enough pints to fill them (good training). As a qualified ref himself he has an excellent understanding of the rules of the game and he also (sometimes) adheres to them! He does seem to have a bit of a nack for putting the ball in the net and is an incredible asset to the men’s team, so when asked ‘will he score at varsity?’ We can confidently say yes he Wilkes😎😎😎

Miss Skelton, our resident plant eater, has dispelled the majority of allegations of iron deficiency through her performance this season. As an incredible asset to the ladies team, she consistent and reliable in both attack and defense and has saved the day on many occasions like the true hero she is. She’ll certainly be assembling at Jubilee for her blockbuster Varsity performance 🥬🦸‍♀️❤️

‼️Nobody panic‼️ we’re bringing our biggest (& finest) guns for Varsity with muscle mummy Bugnar, she’s upped her protein consumption to an average 3 chicken breasts an hour & I’m sure that will come in handy when she’s beefing the big boys in the pool💪🤽‍♀️❤️

Mr Ammon just about made it back on time to Southampton from Trinidad to represent us at Varsity this year (close call), thankfully Dr Thomas has assured us his finger is now in working order 🇹🇹🔥👏

El presidente Mr Thomas will be steam rolling the home pool at Varsity, he’s widely known for his ball handling skills (pictured above), swim offs and something about backshots? 🔥🏐🏊

After captaining the men to their most succesful cup run in club history, our Mr Teng/10 is well set for Varsity🥇🚀🤽

Next up for Varsity - she has captained the girls for two seasons, and is our top goal scorer despite playing a heavily defensive role in the team (light work), it’s our very own Miss Ratledge 👩‍✈️🤽‍♀️🥶
