Congratulations to Fred on being awarded ‘Young Senior of the Year’ in our annual Club Championships. This award is extra special because it is voted for by our members and shows what a fantastic contribution Fred makes to our Club to make it so special. Well done!

The GLTC Annual Golf Day took place last month. Many thanks to Ray for organising and to our hosts, Top Meadow Golf Club. It was a great event as usual. Congratulations to winner Sonny 🏆; Ray (after many years of organising the event) FINALLY made it onto the podium in second place🥈; and George and Darren finished joint third 🥉. We’re not sure any of the guys will be trading in their tennis racquets for golf clubs any time soon… 😆

You are warmly invited to come and watch the finals of our Club Championships today from 11am. It is always a fantastic day showcasing great tennis, club spirit and, of course, cake! The bar and teashop will be open so do come along and watch some great tennis. 🎾 ☀️ (PS The road will be a little busier than normal, so please try and walk to the club if you can).

Our annual late summer Bank Holiday tournament did not disappoint. A lovely afternoon of fabulous tennis with great friends. All good things come to an end! A great summer term of tennis concluded with fun tournaments across the adult groups (although Wednesday missed out because of the footie!). Thanks everyone for taking part. Tuesday’s group saw Wendy victorious followed by Claudia coming out on top in Friday’s fun tournament. Thanks everyone for taking part - great fun, as always! Enjoy the summer and we look forward to seeing you back when lessons and cardio recommence in September. See you on court in the meantime! 🎾🎾🎾

A huge thank you to everyone who supported our Open Day on Saturday, whether that was on or off the courts, coming along to play (some of you ALL DAY 😅) or volunteering to do a specific role. Due to privacy reasons, we can’t share all the photos we took and they don’t do the day justice but, honestly, the courts were packed all day! Great job!

Thank you also to our coaches (Ray, Dan and the Young Leaders) for their commitment and resourcefulness on the court, accommodating everyone and anyone who came to play in such a fun and relaxed manner.

The result of the team effort was a fabulous day of tennis, family fun and laughter which is testament to the Club that we all treasure. We already can’t wait for next year 🎾🤩
