A great enjoyed by all who attended.

One of our coaches took part in their first Kata competition at the SNWJG and ~BENG-XXVI held in Beverwijk in the Netherlands.
Having only met and run though the 2 katas he was demonstrating with his uke just before the competition they manged to secure a 3rd in Katame-no-Kata and a 1st in Ju-no-Kata.
Katame-no-Kata is a demonstration of grappling techniques and Ju-no-Kata is using flexibility to defeat strength.
The event this year was attended by over 300 judoka and officials from Great Britain, Belgium, Sweden, Germany, Finland, Australia, Spain, Netherlands and USA.
As always this was a great event for all to attend with a day of training/divisioning, followed by the SNWJG & Kata on the Saturday, and the BENG on the Sunday. The teams also enjoyed a party on the Saturday night at Assumburg Castle. We extend our thanks to the organisers for another excellent event.

Today Annemarie and Calum fought at the British Schools championships in Sheffield. Both fought hard coming away with Bronze medals.

Olympian returns to the Kodokwai

Mark Adshead GB Olympian, GB European Championships competitor and medalist in Paris Tournament is taking Kodokwai JC Thursday evening session on 05th Feb. 7.30pm. All welcome. Mark was a full time judo player for many years and GB number 1 representing team GB throughout the world at "A" ranking events.
