Huge well done to the girls today on their first win of the season 🥳

Final Score: 5️⃣-2️⃣

Both teams put in a great effort! Sandown & Lake took the first goal before Libby took it to a draw and then bagged a hat trick bringing the score to 3-1. Hanna put in the fourth goal before Scarlet and Casia linked up perfectly for the fifth goal. Final goal came from Sandown & Lake from a free kick!

Overall, a brilliant performance from both teams - well done!

What a game today!! Such brilliant play from both sides today- it was a fantastic game to watch and all the players across both teams played their hearts out.
Venom have been focusing on keeping vocal during the game, helping direct and organise while also boosting each other and it is SO brilliant to hear 🤩
Special shout out to Joesph and his grandparents- they bought the team their very own bench 🙌 they LOVED it today 💛💙💛
Another shout out to Oscar- our captain this season ⚽️ He led the game wonderfully and a brilliant result for the lads today- Keep it going 🥳

V-Dawgs vs Gurnard Eagles Match report.

Big well done to the team today. 6-0 to Gurnard Eagles, In the first 25 min our defence was really strong and we managed to keep them out. This is a real result and a massive win. The team continued to battle in the second half, some brave defence and good passages of attacking play, we unfortunately didn’t bear fruit. The boys heads didn’t go down and they just kept on battling. Strong performances across the pitch recognised by our captain team who gave their player of the match to the whole team. Managers’ player went to Ryan, who put a shift in on the left and had a really good spell at left back. The game was played in good spirit and the opposition manager was really impressed with our lot. Well done V-Dawgs. Onwards to next week, looking forward to building on these positive performances. Thanks to parents for your support. See you next week.

⚽️ VENTNOR VIKNGS vs NEWPORT YOUTH ⚽️ CUP GAME.

Today the Ventnor Vikings welcomed Newport Youth for a cup game at home.

It was a great game played in good spirits against a strong Newport side. The Vikings found themselves 2–0 down at half-time, but they certainly didn’t let their heads drop. 💪

The second half saw the boys battling hard, working together and defending brilliantly to keep Newport at bay. We came close to getting one back, with Fred hitting a great shot from just outside the 18-yard box, but the Newport keeper got his hands to it with a good save . ⚽️

The boys continued to fight for every ball and showed some fantastic teamwork and football. Unfortunately, Newport managed to break through in the final 10 minutes, scoring another two goals to take the game away from us.

Despite the result, there was so much to be proud of today. Some brilliant defending, great teamwork and some excellent passages of play against a tough opposition. 👏

The coaches are incredibly proud of every single one of you — and you should be proud of yourselves too! 💛💙

Valkyries v Vectis

The girls faced a tough challenge this morning against a strong Vectis team who have just moved down from the top division. Despite the 9–0 result, they can be incredibly proud of the performance they put in.

From the first whistle to the last, the girls showed the same fantastic attitude they always do, never giving up and producing some fantastic football. They continued to work hard, support one another and play as a team throughout the whole match and their determination and positive mindset were clear to see, even when the scoreline was difficult.

Most importantly, the girls showed great sportsmanship and attitude, encouraging each other right until the final whistle which earned praise from the referee and spectators alike. There were a huge amount of positives to take from today’s game, including some stand out individual performances and the girls should be so proud of the effort, teamwork and spirit they showed.

🏆 Player of the match goes to Daisy for stepping up to play in defence and giving an absolutely superb performance.

⚡ VOLTS MATCH REPORT ⚡

What a game! A brilliant battle against an inspired Sandown team! 💙⚡⚽

The Volts put in a fantastic performance today in a game that genuinely had everything. End-to-end action, big challenges, brilliant football, goals and, most importantly, a team that refused to give up. 💪

We had a defensive masterclass from Henry, who was an absolute warrior at the back. Strong, brave and throwing himself into every challenge, he gave everything for the team. 🛡️⚡

In midfield, Grayson, Albie, Oscar and Simone worked incredibly hard, linking play, battling for possession and constantly trying to drive the Volts forward. There was some brilliant football being played through the middle of the pitch. 👏

And then there was Abel...

🔥 A HAT-TRICK! 🔥

Abel was absolutely clinical in front of goal, but those goals don't happen without the hard work around him. Oscar and Martha both provided some fantastic assists, creating the opportunities for Abel to do what he does best. ⚽⚽⚽

And just when we thought the game couldn't get any more exciting, Grayson stepped up with a last-minute clincher! 🚀⚽

The assist came from our formidable force between the sticks, Seb, who once again showed just how important he is to this team. 🧤💙

What we're most proud of today, though, was the character of the whole team.

The Volts found themselves behind during the game, but there was no heads dropping and no giving up. The opposition played with real physicality and unfortunately we picked up a few knocks along the way, but the players kept pushing, kept supporting each other and kept fighting right until the final whistle.

VIKINGS V DOWNSIDE YOUTH

Yeasterday the Vikings headed away to Vectis Playing Fields to take on Downside Youth.

Despite the final score not going our way, the boys showed fantastic team spirit, worked brilliantly together and played some really good football. 💙💛

There was plenty of fight, determination and some great passages of play throughout the game. Tate got himself on the scoresheet with a brilliant goal, assisted by Harry! 👏⚽️

Most importantly, the boys kept fighting right until the final whistle and kept their heads up, showing exactly what it means to be a Viking. 💪

The result might not have been ours, but the teamwork, attitude and effort absolutely were. 👏

Today we faced a very strong Vectis side, and we knew from the start that we were going to have to dig deep, work hard and defend with everything we had.

It was brilliant to see so many of the skills they’ve been working on in training come into play. The players worked tirelessly throughout the whole game, supporting each other and giving it absolutely everything. 💙💛

We went into today with some clear targets and the players exceeded every single one of them. There was so much to be proud of, and performances like this really show just how far this team has come. Player development at it's best 🥳

⚽️⚽️ Match Report V-Dawgs ⚽️⚽️

Big shout out to the team today. The IOW cup run starts and ends here. Our first home game of the season. Strong opposition from Sandown Wasps. Final score 0-5. The lads can hold their heads high and be proud of their performance. We’ve been working on communication and resilience and defence. They all put a shift in today and didn’t stop working and battling for most of the game. Really good performances across the pitch. A few attacking moments, unfortunately not coming away with more. They
let in a few simple goals in the first half but for a few good spells held Sandown at bay. The game was played in excellent spirit and the camaraderie between the teams was good to see. All the team played well, hard to single out any players, great to see some passing play, really aided by increased communication and positive encouragement. This team spirit is the the real win for the team today.
Managers’ player, Alfie, really strong in the midfield, brilliant defensive play.
Captains’ players, Alfie and Indi. Indi was really active in the middle of the field and played really positively.
