✨Closure of Cockley Woodland Wellness✨
I would like the thank everyone of you for being a part of this beautiful community but unfortunately we will not be opening again this summer.
It is with a heavy heart that I write this.. I am so immensely proud of the community that has been created here at Cockley Wood. I look forward to seeing your faces and hearing your stories each time I see you, but the reality behind running a business as I’m sure many of you know is much deeper than the wonderful face to face classes I get to teach.
I have been reflecting a lot over the winter period, and although I adore Cockley Wellness, I fear it has become too much for me personally. Due to the nature of the space, I have to be available throughout any class or event that we run. This aspect has begun to significantly affect my family life and our ability to do other things as a family. I have also come to term with the fact that I have been trying to spin a few too many plates, and although our wonderful instructors have helped me in every way they possibly can, there is only so much I am able to delegate.
Due to this constant pace of my life I have noticed an impact on my own personal yoga practice. When I reflected deeper I have realised I wasn’t just allowing burnout to get in the way of my practice, I was also actively avoiding it at times, as I didn’t want to allow myself the space and face what came up. Our yoga practice is for ourselves, and is often a privilege, but can sometimes be that mirror to ourselves that we avoid looking into. I believe in everything I have ever taught, and now I must make changes to my own life to ensure I’m living authentically and in line with my values and beliefs.
I would like to say a huge thank you to our wonderful teachers, who will still be around and about offering their wonderful classes and events, but for now I am putting any teaching on hold.
I'm so proud of what we have build together, and although I feel some relief with this decision, I also feel a horrible pit in my stomach that this journey is over.

Last night marked our final Full Moon Energies event of the season, and actually our final event of the year!
What a whirlwind this Summer has been ☀️🌈 Behind the cool, calm, professional presence our instructors bring to every one of our events, there are hours and hours of planning, setting up and preparation. I'd like to thank them all from the bottom of my heart for not only being amazing facilitators, but also just truly wonderful people. Our woodland isn't just a business, it's our home, which makes them all family. Thank you to
Our beautiful Woodland is such a sanctuary for us all to explore and develop our connections with ourselves. We hope you can join us for one of our remaining classes of the season, if not.... Keep an eye out for what all of our instructors are offering over the winter months, and we'll see you next Spring!

Is Yoga selfish?
Yoga is often portrayed in the modern world as being a selfish act. Something we create time for to be with ourselves and to disconnect from the rest of the world around us. The hour or few hours a week we spend on our mat may be exactly that, a time for ourselves.
But yoga is deeply routed in connection, in community and how we harmoniously live with the world around us. Yoga encourages us to get to know ourselves on a deeper, sometimes darker level, so that we can be kind, mindful and conscious of the beautiful world that surrounds us.
The first two of the 8 limbs of yoga from Patanjalis Yoga Sutras are the Yamas and the Niyamas. The Yamas are social, moral guidelines relating to how we live with others and the world around us. The Niyamas are more personal disciplines.
So no, yoga should not be a selfish act, in fact, it should help us recognise times where we are being selfish, and bring us back to our morals and values, to reset and start again

Dare we say it, we're real lovers of high summer here, and we're not trying to nudge it away before it's ready to go, but....... The Autumn Equinox is not far around the corner!
The Autumn Equinox 🍂🍁 is a time to plan ahead for the cooler, darker months. Choosing to live seasonally and harmoniously with nature. This immersive workshop includes:

🍁 Intention Setting and journaling opportunities to plan for the darker half of the year.

✨ Our Weekly Classes ✨
We love welcoming you all into the Woodland for classes or events. Our timetable aims to provide different styles of yoga along with a mixture of teachers so you can really find what connects and resonates with YOU. Our yoga practice shouldn't be something else we do because someone told us we should for our own wellbeing. It should be something we enjoy, something that becomes part of us, something that helps put the bundle of pieces of our consciousness back into some sort of calm and order.
Please note that the upcoming Bank Holiday Monday will just have a 9am Sunrise Flow class and no evening classes.

Our Preparation for Autumn 🍁. At this time of year we start looking forward to the colder, slower months. Setting our intentions for how we will support our own mental and physical wellbeing.
