🐣⚽ Easter Sunday Football Fun at the U10s Easter Cup! ⚽🐣

What better way to spend Easter Sunday than with a football festival! While the shops were closed and most people were enjoying chocolate eggs, twelve fantastic teams came together at Blackgates Primary School for a brilliant day of football.

Hosted by East Ardsley, who entered two teams, we were delighted to welcome Stanningley Albion and Mexborough Athletic (also bringing two teams each), alongside Hemsworth Town, Horsforth St Margaret’s, Middleton Park, Neville Hill, Ossett Town and Seacroft Colts.

After three hours of non-stop action, energy, and teamwork (and plenty of muddy boots!), our finalists were decided:

🥇 Champions League Final
Mexborough Athletic Reds edged out Neville Hill with a tight 1–0 victory

🥈 Europa League Final
East Ardsley Purples secured a 1–0 win over Seacroft Colts

🥉 Conference League Final
Hemsworth Town triumphed 1–0 against Ossett Town

A huge thank you to every team who took part. The weather may have been more “winter chill” than “spring sunshine,” but the players, coaches, and families showed amazing spirit—braving the conditions and making it a truly egg-cellent day of football! 🐰🌧️⚽

Happy Easter to everyone involved!

Match reports from some of our games today!!!

We are still recruiting some of the age groups

01/03/2026

As the oldest age group, they always get the short straw... Teenagers never want photos or praise, but this team has been through alot. I am so happy that they have found something special this season.

🔵⚽ U15’s Match Report – The One Where We Found Religion 😇🌱

Mirfield (Away) vs East Ardsley U15s

Away day at Mirfield… and let’s just say the pitch had clearly been to church. Holy ground. Literally. Holes everywhere. 🙏😂

We turned up expecting silky 4G. Instead? Grass. Mud. Divots. A surface last seen in 1997. Proper men’s football conditions. Character building stuff. 💪🌧️

Coming into this game:
✅ Three wins on the bounce
✅ Unbeaten in 2026
✅ Confidence high

Mirfield were bottom of the league, which in football usually means one thing… banana skin alert. 🚨🍌

⏱️ First Half – The Disappearing Midfield Act 🎩

For 40 minutes, our midfield went missing. If anyone finds it, please return it to East Ardsley.

We didn’t win first balls.
Didn’t win second balls.
Probably didn’t win third balls either.

Mirfield battled for everything and when the whistle went at half-time, they celebrated like they’d won the World Cup. We stood there thinking… lads, it’s 0-0. Relax. 😂

🗣️ Half-Time – The “Friendly” Chat 😅

The team talk?
Let’s call it… passionate.

More pressure.
Higher line.
Move the ball faster.
Stop playing like the pitch has swallowed your boots.

And to be fair… the response was unbelievable. 🔥

⚡ Second Half – The Nick Documentary 🎬

Five minutes in — Nick presses turbo. Through on goal. Calm finish.

Five minutes later — copy and paste. Pace through the lines. Defender left needing a sat nav. Another finish.

Then again — through on goal. Keeper rushes out like he’s late for the bus. Nick just d***s it over him. Ice cold. 🥶

Hat-trick complete. 🎩✨

But wait… he’s not finished.

From near the halfway line he channels his inner Tony Yeboah and unleashes an absolute rocket. 🚀 The ball dipped under the bar like it had GPS. Parents silent for half a second… then absolute chaos.

Four for Nick. Someone check his boots. They’re illegal. 😭🔥

💥 The Grand Finale

With seconds left, Rylan said, “Why not?” Cut in from the right and absolutely smashed one. No saving that. Net nearly needed counselling. 💣

Final whistle.

Water flying.
Tops off.
Celebrations you’d think we’d won the league. 😂

💙 The Bigger Picture

Last year?
Lost every game. Most by double digits.

This year?
Unbeaten in 2026.
Three games left.

From conceding for fun… to defending like warriors and scoring screamers from halfway.

Football, eh? Funny old game. ⚽❤️

Now the big question… can we actually finish the year unbeaten? 👀

One thing’s for sure — if we keep playing second halves like that, even holy pitches won’t stop us. 😇🔥

🏆 Player of the Match 🏆

Let’s be honest… when you score FOUR — including a halfway-line rocket that nearly broke the laws of physics — it’s very hard to look past Nick. 🎩🚀

Pace.
Composure.
Confidence.
And a chip so cheeky it needs its own warning label. 🥶

So Player of the Match absolutely goes to Nick. Clinical. Ruthless. Unplayable in that second half.

BUT…

We need to talk about Alfie. 👏

If Nick was fireworks 🎆, Alfie was the silent bodyguard in a suit. Calm. Composed. Didn’t put a foot wrong all game. Won his battles. Read the game brilliantly. Did the simple things perfectly — and sometimes that’s harder than scoring from halfway!

Managers love goals… but they REALLY love players who are flawless. And Alfie was exactly that. 💪🧠

So:
🏆 Official POTM: Nick
🌟 Honourable “Basically Perfect” Mention: Alfie

That’s what strong teams are built on — match-winners AND rock-solid grafters.

Unbeaten run still alive… three to go… 👀🔥

Match Report – U11 Pumas First Ever Game! 🌟

Today our brand new U11 girls team, the Pumas 🐆, played their first ever match away at Netherton, with a few of our amazing U9s stepping up to help out 🙌

The girls started off a little nervous 😬, and Netherton took an early lead. Thisuli started in goal 🧤 and pulled off some fantastic saves, before handing over the gloves to our brand new U11 player, CeeCee—who was absolutely incredible in goal and really showed us how it’s done 🔥

💥 We pulled one back with a brilliant goal from Leah—what a strike!
Netherton responded to go back in front, but Sophia quickly leveled it up again ⚽️👏
Moments later, Enya, who had only just come on, grabbed a goal of her own—impact sub alert 🚀

🔥 Leah then added another, assisted by Thisuli, who was strong and composed in midfield all game.
🍯 Honey was unlucky not to score after carrying the ball all the way down the wing—what a run!
✨ Shobi showed some amazing skills in midfield throughout the match.
🛡️ Gabs kept the defence tight, but Netherton managed to squeeze through to seal the win.
💪 Jorgee Ann battled her nerves and made some great defensive tackles, while Sienna was strong in midfield, battling hard in plenty of 1v1s.

🏆 Player of the Match goes to CeeCee for an outstanding performance in goal—take a bow!

👏 Well done, Pumas! A fantastic first game full of effort, bravery, and teamwork.
🙌 Massive thank you to our sponsor, Mason Downing from Downings Attractions, for the support!

💛🐆 Onwards and upwards!

🕵️‍♂️ Operation: Enemy Territory 🟣⚪

Under the cover of darkness (well… stadium floodlights), two young Leeds United loyalists accepted their most daring mission yet.

Agents James and Leon, proud members of East Ardsley JFC U10s Whites, were deployed deep into hostile territory for the Huddersfield Town vs Luton Town clash. Officially, they were there as flag bearers. Unofficially… they were undercover operatives on a top-secret Leeds United mission.

Surrounded by Terriers fans.
Outnumbered.
Out-coloured.
Out of place.

And yet… they stood firm.

Dressed boldly in their Leeds kits, these brave young Whites supporters refused to blend in. No disguises. No camouflage. No surrender.

Instead, they struck.

With nerves of steel and a perfectly timed snap, Agent James and Agent Leon captured photographic evidence of their daring presence behind enemy lines. A cheeky grin here. A subtle badge display there. Mission accomplished.

Some call it risky.
Some call it rebellious.
We call it proper Leeds spirit.

From flag bearers to fearless infiltrators, these two proved that loyalty doesn’t stop at the turnstiles.

Once a White. Always a White. 💙🤍

Mission status: Successful.
Next assignment: Elland Road (hopefully). 😉
