💜⚽🏆 WHAT A SUMMER OF GALAS FOR EAST ARDSLEY U10s! 🏆⚽💜

We entered 18 teams across 14 different galas, giving our players the chance to enjoy some fantastic football, make memories and test themselves against some brilliant opposition. ⚽💜

And those four trophies were won at Castleford🏆, South Leeds🏆 and our two East Ardsley galas! 🏆🏆💜

A very special mention has to go to John Murphy (and his family), who somehow managed to attend every single gala except one! 👏💜 The only reason he missed that one was because, unfortunately, he couldn't be in two places at the same time! 😂⚽

But the results and trophies only tell part of the story.

Behind every game, every goal and every trophy has been an incredible amount of commitment, dedication and support from our players, coaches and parents. 💜⚽

To our players — thank you for giving your all, representing East Ardsley with pride, supporting each other and never giving up. Your attitude, effort and enthusiasm have been fantastic throughout the summer. 👏⚽💜

To our coaches — thank you for giving up your weekends, organising teams, coaching, encouraging and supporting the players throughout what has been a very busy summer. Your dedication has made all of this possible. 🧑‍🏫⚽💜

And to our parents and families — the early starts, long drives, packed bags, changing kits, cheering from the sidelines and constant support don't go unnoticed. Without you, none of these galas would have been possible. 👏💜⚽

Most importantly, the boys have had the opportunity to play football, enjoy themselves, make friends and create memories that will last well beyond the summer. 💜⚽

A huge well done to everyone involved. You should all be incredibly proud of what you've achieved! 🏆💜🏆💜🏆

U16s match report

Match Report

We came up against a very strong wrenthorpe side and found ourselves 2–0 down early on. Despite the difficult start, the team showed great determination to respond.

Our reaction was outstanding. Three quick goals turned the game on its head, giving us a 3–2 lead in the second quarter. During that spell, our energy, work rate, and quality on the ball were excellent. Most importantly, we played as a team, supporting one another and taking control against a very good opposition.

Unfortunately, the game slipped away from us in the closing minutes. The opposition made the most of their chances, scoring three late goals—including an unstoppable free kick to claim a 5–3 victory.

After the match, we finished with a penalty shootout. There were some well-taken penalties, but it's also an area where we can improve. Ethan and Nick, in particular, know they are capable of better, and with a little more composure and confidence, they'll be putting those chances away. We'll keep practising, as penalty-taking is just as much about staying calm under pressure as it is about technique.

While the result wasn't what we wanted, there were plenty of positives to take from the performance. To come back from two goals down against such strong opponents showed real resilience, belief, and quality. If we continue to play with the same attitude, teamwork, and intensity, the results will follow.

Current U6s moving into next season’s U7s are invited to join our FREE summer 3v3 football tournaments.

📍 Venue: Robin Hood Primary School, WF3 3BG

📅 Tournament Dates:
• Saturday 20th June – 9:00am start
• Saturday 11th July – 1:00pm start

• Sunday 19th July – 9:00am start

You do not need to attend every date, simply enter the tournaments you would like to play in.

🐣⚽ Easter Sunday Football Fun at the U10s Easter Cup! ⚽🐣

What better way to spend Easter Sunday than with a football festival! While the shops were closed and most people were enjoying chocolate eggs, twelve fantastic teams came together at Blackgates Primary School for a brilliant day of football.

Hosted by East Ardsley, who entered two teams, we were delighted to welcome Stanningley Albion and Mexborough Athletic (also bringing two teams each), alongside Hemsworth Town, Horsforth St Margaret’s, Middleton Park, Neville Hill, Ossett Town and Seacroft Colts.

After three hours of non-stop action, energy, and teamwork (and plenty of muddy boots!), our finalists were decided:

🥇 Champions League Final
Mexborough Athletic Reds edged out Neville Hill with a tight 1–0 victory

🥈 Europa League Final
East Ardsley Purples secured a 1–0 win over Seacroft Colts

🥉 Conference League Final
Hemsworth Town triumphed 1–0 against Ossett Town

A huge thank you to every team who took part. The weather may have been more “winter chill” than “spring sunshine,” but the players, coaches, and families showed amazing spirit—braving the conditions and making it a truly egg-cellent day of football! 🐰🌧️⚽
