Tough day for the East Ardsley U11 Purples team in the second game of the cup.

Despite being the team on the attack for most for the first half they went into the break a couple of goals behind.

However after conceding again, they showed great resilience in the second half to get a few goals back. Unfortunately it wasnt quite enough to get the draw but it was an incredible team effort.

👏🏆 Player of the Match - Arlo for 1 goal and 2 assists (despite him claiming the own goal for himself 🤣)

💪⚽ Where there’s a will, there’s a way! ⚽💪

One of our U12s players, George, unfortunately broke his kneecap in the first league game of the season following a bit of an awkward challenge. 😬

Anybody who knows George and his younger brother, John, who plays for our U11s, will know that they’re both football mad and absolutely nothing will stop them from playing football! 😂⚽

Well, here’s the first-hand proof of that! 👀👇

Despite having a broken kneecap, George has somehow managed to work out a way to still kick a football! 🤣⚽ And, believe it or not, this could actually help him develop a greater range and improve his ability with his left foot! 👏

You have to admire the dedication! 🔥💪

Keep going, George! We can’t wait to see you back out on that pitch! ⚽💜

⚽️ East Ardsley U11s beach football team ⚽️

Today some of the U11s and one U12 along with their families embarked on a trip to Bridlington.

They set themselves a football pitch up on the beach for a kick about and then worked on their strength by fighting off the waves in the sea.

Followed up by the obligatory Fish & Chips then Ice Cream.

A wonderful opportunity for the kids to have some fun together away from the football pitch.

A fabulous day was had by all.

💜⚽🏆 WHAT A SUMMER OF GALAS FOR EAST ARDSLEY U10s! 🏆⚽💜

We entered 18 teams across 14 different galas, giving our players the chance to enjoy some fantastic football, make memories and test themselves against some brilliant opposition. ⚽💜

📊 The numbers tell the story:

👦 31 players took part
🧑‍🏫 5 coaches gave their time and commitment
⚽ 103 games played
🥅 76 goals scored
💪 6 group-stage exits
🥈 6 semi-final defeats
🏆 6 finals reached
🏆 4 trophies won!

And those four trophies were won at Castleford🏆, South Leeds🏆 and our two East Ardsley galas! 🏆🏆💜

A very special mention has to go to John Murphy (and his family), who somehow managed to attend every single gala except one! 👏💜 The only reason he missed that one was because, unfortunately, he couldn't be in two places at the same time! 😂⚽

But the results and trophies only tell part of the story.

Behind every game, every goal and every trophy has been an incredible amount of commitment, dedication and support from our players, coaches and parents. 💜⚽

To our players — thank you for giving your all, representing East Ardsley with pride, supporting each other and never giving up. Your attitude, effort and enthusiasm have been fantastic throughout the summer. 👏⚽💜

To our coaches — thank you for giving up your weekends, organising teams, coaching, encouraging and supporting the players throughout what has been a very busy summer. Your dedication has made all of this possible. 🧑‍🏫⚽💜

And to our parents and families — the early starts, long drives, packed bags, changing kits, cheering from the sidelines and constant support don't go unnoticed. Without you, none of these galas would have been possible. 👏💜⚽

Most importantly, the boys have had the opportunity to play football, enjoy themselves, make friends and create memories that will last well beyond the summer. 💜⚽

A huge well done to everyone involved. You should all be incredibly proud of what you've achieved! 🏆💜🏆💜🏆

Now it's time for a little rest... before we go again! 😴⚽😂

Bring on the new season as East Ardsley U11s! 💜⚽🏆

Let's see what the next chapter brings... 💜💜💜

💜⚽🏆

U16s match report

Match Report

We came up against a very strong wrenthorpe side and found ourselves 2–0 down early on. Despite the difficult start, the team showed great determination to respond.

Our reaction was outstanding. Three quick goals turned the game on its head, giving us a 3–2 lead in the second quarter. During that spell, our energy, work rate, and quality on the ball were excellent. Most importantly, we played as a team, supporting one another and taking control against a very good opposition.

Unfortunately, the game slipped away from us in the closing minutes. The opposition made the most of their chances, scoring three late goals—including an unstoppable free kick to claim a 5–3 victory.

After the match, we finished with a penalty shootout. There were some well-taken penalties, but it's also an area where we can improve. Ethan and Nick, in particular, know they are capable of better, and with a little more composure and confidence, they'll be putting those chances away. We'll keep practising, as penalty-taking is just as much about staying calm under pressure as it is about technique.

While the result wasn't what we wanted, there were plenty of positives to take from the performance. To come back from two goals down against such strong opponents showed real resilience, belief, and quality. If we continue to play with the same attitude, teamwork, and intensity, the results will follow.
