Donโt bother asking your partner ๐
Sorry, but this post is going to be a bit bluntโฆ
If you want to invest in coaching, you shouldnโt have to ask your partnerโs permission ๐ฌ
Yes, you might have joint bills to pay and I certainly donโt want to put you in a position where you canโt pay the mortgage or put food on the table
But if those things are covered then itโs up to you, not him (or her - but it tends to be the men that say no๐) ๐คท๐ปโโ๏ธ
Your partner doesnโt know how you feel really
Your partner doesnโt live in your body
Your partner doesnโt feel unconfident in your bikini on the beach
Your partner doesnโt wish they didnโt have so many wobbly bits when they look in the mirror
If you ask your partner, heโs probably going to say โNoโ
Heโs going to tell you that you donโt need a coach and you can lose weight and tone up on your own - even though youโve been trying (and failing) for God knows how long on your own
What will happen is, heโll say โNoโ, you give it another go on your own, feel even more sh*t about yourself and in a month or so youโll come back and ask if you can start then
So, rather than asking your partner if you can spend the equivalent of a daily meal deal (and SIGNIFICANTLY less than a golf club membership ๐คฏ) on your health, fitness and happiness, make the decision yourself!
It is always easier to ask for forgiveness than permission ๐
Plus, if he really kicks off, tell him youโll be willing to have s*x more often than once every couple of months if you feel more confident in your body ๐คท๐ปโโ๏ธ๐๐

When Lynsey came to me she felt tired, unfit, unhealthy and wanted to gain confidence in herself.
Initially Lynseyโs goal was to work with me for 3 months in the run up to a holiday but sheโs actually stayed for a year and is about to fly the nest as she doesnโt need me anymore ๐

Whatโs this, whatโs it mean, whoโs it for?
First of all, if you already work with me or have spoken to me about working together and you donโt have kids, Iโm not kicking you out ๐
But, this re-brand is really to make it clear what my coaching is about:

Mums are bloody amazing!
We work, we clean, we wash tiny human clothes 6 million times a week, we make lists, we shop, we generally are the glue that holds the household together and we are guilty of putting ourselves at the bottom of the pile.
I want Strong Mum Squad to be a community of women who are ready to feel their best again, ready to be a tiny bit selfish (this is not a bad thing) and ready to set and achieve goals for themselves ๐ช๐ผ

You want to lose weight, right?
And you sort of already know that you need to eat a bit less and move a bit moreโฆ
But itโs not quite working. Is it?
The problem is, you donโt know how to make it all fit.
It was easy when there was just you, you were in your 20s and you could follow a meal plan and go to the gym whenever you want but youโre not that person anymore.
Life changes and that means the old ways arenโt going to work anymore.
I used to be able to go out for a walk for an hour twice a day.
I used to go to the gym 5 times a week and sometimes run on top of that.
That all changed when I had Lillian ๐
My time wasnโt my own and I needed a way to get back to feeling good about myself, without giving up all other stuff I needed to get done (side note - do little people have so much washing?)
So, I hired a coach!
I knew what to do but I just wasnโt doing it ๐คท๐ปโโ๏ธ
I needed the accountability, structure and support of someone external, someone who wouldnโt let me give up on myself but who got it and knew I didnโt have all the time in the world.
I tracked what I ate - and I was honest about it - even on weekends ๐ท ๐ ๐ซ
I went to the gym but just 3 times a week - my partner works shifts, he also wants to train, itโs all thatโs doable for me right now ๐๐ปโโ๏ธ
I walked the dogs once a day and, Iโd I needed to nip to the shop, I walked rather than driving ๐ถโโ๏ธ
I knew all of this stuff but I wasnโt doing it on my own.
And, I was spending ยฃ30+ a week on takeaway and wine to drown my sorrows after a ๐ฉ day that couldโve been better spent on a coach!
You need a coach!
You need someone to keep you accountable and help you when youโve had a tough day or a tough week so that you donโt throw in the towel.

Liz has lost 10lbs WITHOUT giving up Dairy Milk, whilst breastfeeding and looking after 3 boys aged 4 and under๐ซ
Liz knew she had to change something!
Her energy was through the floor, 3 kids, a dog and a house to run is A LOT, especially when the littlest human is breast feeding and is up loads in the night.
Anyone who tells you maternity leave is a rest clearly hasnโt got kids ๐
Living off of snacks, convenience foods and takeaways was making Liz feel crap ๐ฉ
When Mums come to me theyโve usually been trying to make it work for a while on their own.
Liz would track her good and start the day with good intentions but sheโd get to 3pm, feel knackered and give in to cravings.
She needed that accountability and support so that she felt confident that saying โnoโ to those cravings (but still having a bit of what she fancied in moderation) would actually be worthwhile.
2 months in and Liz is 10lbs down, having to buy smaller clothes (sorry ๐๐คท๐ปโโ๏ธ) and feeling so much happier!
I donโt expect too much of Liz (or the other Mums I work with) but I do hold her accountable and make sure that she gets outside for a walk in the fresh air every day, spends about 45 minutes 3 X a week following her personalised training programme (from home with boys usually helping out) and she sticks to her food targets that give her enough energy for Mum life but still see her dropping body fat week in week out!

Set backs are going to happen!
Theyโre normal ๐ข
But, what tends to happen, is things donโt go to plan and you throw in the towel. Youโre โoff the wagonโ and youโll try again next Monday or next month or next January ๐คท๐ปโโ๏ธ
Hereโs the thing - thereโs no race and sh*t is going to hit the fan sometimes, thatโs life!
The difference when you have a coach (Me ๐๐ปโโ๏ธ) holding your, keeping you accountable, picking you up when you fall down is that you can see the wood for the trees and you donโt have to throw in the towel.
Itโs about finding โ๏ธ
Itโs about knowing that your life is hectic:
